Star of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Jay Smith confirmed he has a new girlfriend after his split from Ashley Martson. The reality star took to social media to debut his new love interest.
Smith and Martson were initially featured on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé after the two met while Martson was vacationing in Jamaica. However, Martson and Smith’s wedded bliss did not last long as he started to cheat on her once they had moved to the United States. The rocky relationship led Martson to file for divorce, refusing to change his status of immigration so he could be eligible for a green card. In July, Smith was arrested and handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody where he sat behind bars for almost a month. He was eventually released and is still awaiting the outcome of his trial.
Recently, Smith took to Instagram (via: Us Weekly) to announce that he has a new girlfriend, Kayla O’Brien. O’Brien is the alleged woman that he last cheated with and the friend who helped start a Go-Fund-Me page for Smith after he was arrested. The new lovebirds were seen out on the town on August 6, kissing, snapping photos together, and taking shots, and they both captioned their social media posts with hearts. Fans first became aware that Smith may have had a new girlfriend when O’Brien picked him up from the detention center where he was being held by ICE on July 31.
Martson had allegedly known about O’Brien since January after she had caught Smith more than once trying to hide who he was speaking to. Viewers noticed something was wrong in an episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? where Ashley was at the barbershop and referred to a stripper, who she knew to be O’Brien. According to Martson, Smith had been talking to O’Brien as she had found incriminating messages on his phone between the two of them many times. Martson also hinted that Smith had been going to a strip club a couple of times a week and she knew he had been talking to one of the girls that worked there.
It doesn’t seem as if Smith is worried about being deported at this time. He has rebounded quickly and moved on with someone who looks quite similar to his estranged wife, proving that he clearly has a type. Obviously for Smith, he had no intention of keeping his personal life private as it didn’t take long for him to move to the next woman in his life. The new rumor surrounding the couple is that O’Brien could be pregnant, though there has been no proof that this is the case.
