Gino Palazzolo’s girlfriend and 90 Day Fiancé co-star Jasmine Pineda revealed why the Michigan man is never seen without his beloved hat. It was during his first episode on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days that Gino confessed he never takes off his hat. Even Jasmine hadn’t seen Gino’s bald head when they dated online. And when she finally had a chance to do so during their first night together in Panama, he turned off the lights. Jasmine later admitted that Gino looks like Bruce Willis when he takes his hat off. However, Jasmine also told fans about how sensitive Gino gets when asked to show his head, even though she didn’t hesitate from ripping his hat right off during their scary fight in episode 10.
Because Gino’s hatless head is his weak spot, Jasmine reached out to expose it when he claimed that photos of her he sent to his ex weren’t nudes as they just showed her breasts. While the humiliation on Gino’s face was evident after Jasmine swiped his hat, he also had a backup ready in his bag. Gino and Jasmine ended up getting back together, as they do love each other for real, later during the episode, but this week on Before the 90 Days, his hat was discussed again. Jasmine and Gino traveled to David in Chiriquí to meet her mom. On their way to the house, Jasmine asked Gino if he will be taking off his hat while praying before they eat with her mom. Jasmine insisted that it would be required to “show respect” during the prayer and Gino refused right away. “Come on, you’re gonna be meeting my mother, just take off the ******* hat. That’s silly to me. But Gino is so delicate when you talk about his hat, Jesus Christ,” Jasmine complained to the 90 Day Fiancé producers.
But Jasmine danced a different tune on Instagram after the episode when she explained it’s because of psoriasis that Gino actually keeps wearing his hat. Jasmine conducted a mini quiz for her followers. One of the questions she asked was about the "real reason why Gino doesn’t take off his hat.” Jasmine added, “he’s bald” and “psoriasis” as her two options. In a different Story, she explained Gino’s medical condition in depth.
Former American literature teacher Jasmine shared that psoriasis is a skin disease that causes red, itchy, scaly patches. She noted that psoriasis is a common and “chronic” disease, which will affect Gino all his life. There is no known cure for psoriasis. “You never know the struggles people are facing,” Jasmine mentioned. She asked her followers to “choose to be kind,” perhaps referring to the many memes that are being made about Gino’s head without his hat, some of which have been shared by Jasmine herself.
After saying “no” to Jasmine when she insisted that he remove his hat, Gino shared that he becomes anxious and uncomfortable whenever he’s asked to do it. Gino just wants to be himself before Jasmine’s mom. And he prefers how he looks with the hat on. Still, there is a lot riding on Jasmine’s mom’s blessing, even though, at 52, she’s just a year older than Gino himself. Gino predicted that his refusing to part with his hat could be a problem. So 90 Day Fiancé fans will have to wait until the next episode of Before the 90 Days to find out if Jasmine’s mom goes ahead with Gino’s plan.
