90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’s Paul's mother is tired of bailing out her "idiot" son every time he starts to flounder. Fans wonder how their mother-son relationship became so tense.
Paul and Karine Staehle first appeared on Seasons 1 and 2 of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where viewers met them for the first time on camera in Brazil and watched them marry in November 2017. When Karine found out she was pregnant again, she was unable to come to the U.S. because Paul couldn't afford the K-1 visa process and his mom refused to sponsor her, leaving Paul with no choice but to move to Brazil to be there for the birth of his son. During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, they prepared for the birth of their baby boy, Pierre. Despite the drama with Karine texting other American men, the pair are finally in America thanks to a CR-1 visa or spousal visa. The most recent episode showed Paul’s mother, Edna Staehle saying she was over her son acting like an "idiot" when they interact.
Fans have developed a soft spot in their hearts for Edna since almost everyone who watches the popular TLC show can see she has her handful with her adult son. Sunday’s all-new episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? will show Paul once again begging his mother to support his growing family. Karine and Paul headed over to his parent’s house only for fans to find out that he had been locked out of his parent’s house and not given a key. Viewers found this strange and are curious to know the deep-rooted issues going on. Luckily, Paul’s car still had four wheels but was a mess. Karine was mortified that her husband had left an automobile in this condition and did not want to put their baby boy in it. After a good clean up the couple headed back to their hotel.
The evening plans were to meet Edna at a restaurant but Karine refused to go, leaving her husband to fend for himself. Edna was not thrilled to only see her son and told him that if she knew Karine was not coming she would not have come either. During an uncomfortable meal, the reality star came right out and asked his mother for money. To the surprise of fans, Edna did not blink and told her son calmly that she would not be bailing him out. She made it very clear that she had no intention of helping him. Paul tried to use his son against her, but she stood strong. Eventually, she asked him where his pride was.
Paul has always been an interesting character on the show. Thanks to his OCD and germaphobe ways he immediately threw up red flags to viewers. Sadly, Karine did not catch on until she was already pregnant with their child.
