Is Michael from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? using his mother's blessing as a way out of his relationship? Angela and Michael have little in common, so many feel it may be best if the Nigerian ends their romance now.

Fifty-four-year-old Angela Deem and 30-year old Michael Ilesanmi have shown their tumultuous relationship to audiences on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days on season 2 and season 3. In Nigeria, traditions mean everything, especially to the man of the house. Michael has already had to deal with the repercussions of dating a much older woman. Now, he is trying to navigate the waters if Angela can’t tote a baby. Many believe he has been putting up a very good front so he can get a Green Card. Now that it looks like having a baby may be a bit more difficult, he seems to be getting cold feet. On Sunday’s new episode, Angela and Michael decide to take a sunset cruise. During their conversation, each professes love for the other. Michael makes it a point to say that he will still be with Angela even if she cannot become pregnant. As Angela is just about to relax, Michael then says he is not sure if his mother will accept their relationship after the news.

Micheal and Angela 90 Day Fiancé

Nigeria has many diverse cultures and traditions, thanks to its various tribes. Many Nigerian mother are perfectly happy to give their blessing for permission to marry a Nigerian woman from their tribe. But introducing Angela, who is much older, would raise an alarm for any mother who would like to see her son have children. In Nigeria, it is also very important for the men to have their own children and frankly, many believe Angela is too old to have any more babies. Even though Angela has attempted to try to give traditional gifts, such as a goat, and cooked for her elders, and worn a traditional Nigerian dress, there may be no hope if Michael’s mother reneges on her blessing.

It is starting to look like Michael may be using his mother as a get-out clause for his relationship. Many TLC viewers feel that the Nigerian could have sucked up the May-December romance if he got his Green Card and an anchor baby, but with no baby, he may be having second thoughts. Rightly so, Angela was livid and questioned if traditions start to hinder your life when you do stand up to them? Hopefully, fans will get some more answers on Sunday’s episode.
