On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Asuelu Pulaa acts like a third child for his wife, Kalani Faagata, to raise. Since Kalani already has two children, it's obvious her patience is wearing thin. Kalani has tried to explain to her husband why she needs help, but he is now simply ignoring her pleas for teamwork.

On a ride to Washington to see his family, Asuelu and Kalani went through hell with their two children. Asuelu was homesick and wanted to see his relatives, but he doesn't seem to realize he needs to put his children’s wellbeing first. This offense is just the latest in a long line of behaviors that have 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After viewers confused about why new father Asuelu is not helping to raise his children, instead making Kalani take over completely. Asuelu and Kalani struggle with their two little boys under the age of two because the Samoan refuses to put any effort into parenting. Asuelu is not used to the American way where the man pitches in on the child-rearing. He believes if he continues to work at his frozen yogurt job, he is doing his part to take care of his family.

The August 2 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? reinforced that Kalani is a single parent of not only her two sons, but also her husband. No amount of arguing about the importance of shared responsibility is getting her point across, which leaves the reality star in a tough position. On the episode, Aseulu was understandably very excited to see his mother and half-sister in Washington. But after a 12-hour travel day, his young babies were not in the best place. After listening to crying throughout the whole car ride, Kalani pleaded with Asuelu to go directly to the hotel. Asuelu put up a fight at first, but eventually gave in, telling cameras he was extremely upset because his family put together a spread to welcome them.

Most fans were on Kalani’s side, as it was late at night and Asuelu's family likely would have understood that the children needed their rest. Asuelu, however, didn't understand at all. At the hotel, Kalani had to deal with a grown man throwing a tantrum while unloading the suitcases. It does, at times, look like Asuelu may not know how to communicate his feelings. Could his outbursts be the result of translation issues?

Asuelu used to be a fan favorite, but this season forced a change in his title. The TLC personality now comes across as selfish and immature. He makes little money, but wants to shower his family who he hasn’t seen in years with gifts and cash when frankly, the couple can not afford it. When he doesn't get his way, he storms off and refuses to speak to his wife. Fans are hoping Kalani and Asuelu will figure their issues out soon or they may become just another statistic.
