Is Elizabeth Potthast's dad from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? a slumlord? Many former customers have come forward to paint the patriarch, Chuck Potthast, in a negative light.

On a recent episode of Happily Ever After, Chuck grilled his son-in-law, Andrei Castravet, about the reason he left his home country. Fans were appalled to see Libby's family did not get the message that they should stop picking on her husband. Libby was nervous that the two families would collide and her fears came to fruition over an anger-fueled dinner. In the past, the two families have failed to see eye to eye. But now fans have stumbled upon information that suggests Chuck may be running a business scam of his own and therefore should not be attacking Andrei for his past.

It has come to the attention of fans that Chuck may no longer have a leg to stand on when he starts to investigate his son-in-law for sketchy behavior in upcoming episodes. The Potthast family’s Florida business has come under fire for sleazy moves towards tenants. In other words, the ego-centric patriarch may need to tone down his judgment on Andrei now. There have been numerous complaints against Chuck and his son Daniel for running foreclosure scams on renters throughout the years (via All About The Tea). From the looks of it, Chuck may be a slumlord masquerading as a concerned father.

Chuck's company, CDC Capital Investments LLC, has had to defend themselves against accusations of rental fraud. Countless customers claimed the properties they rented from Chuck were in the process of being foreclosed on and the company failed to inform the renters. Many occupants were told at the last minute that they had been evicted and left with nowhere to live. Hostile letters were sent out to other leaseholders threatening to charge them three times the court costs if they did not vacate by the given date, which was usually less than two weeks. Additional grievances accuse the company of not answering their phone or having a voice mail to leave complaints. Chuck and Daniel are said to avoid customers at all costs.

TLC viewers were taken aback by the news since all of Libby’s family come across as annoyingly self-righteous. Each family member aired their concern for the youngest Potthast’s relationship. Maybe Andrei was right all along in the feeling that he could never trust his in-laws. Could the alleged scams be the reason behind his skepticism?
