Many 90 Day Fiancé cast members have blamed their negative fan reception on bad editing, but viewers believe that 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 5 cast members Gino Palazzolo and Memphis Sandoval might have really done something to anger producers given their depictions on the spin-off show. Gino and Memphis have each earned considerable backlash from viewers. While Memphis and Gino are both being held accountable for their own actions, some fans can't help but question their particular bad edits.

Mother of two Memphis has picked up plenty of criticism for her relationship with Tunisian man Moknii Hamza. Though Hamza has repeatedly voiced his concerns about marrying Memphis during her two-week trip to visit him, she has convinced him that they must marry before she returns to the US. Many viewers dislike Memphis for her attitude, marriage pressure, and flawed reasoning. In turn, Gino has become a 90 Day Fiancé franchise "villain" due to his relationship with Panama resident Jasmine Pineda. Gino was caught sending intimate pictures of Jasmine to his ex, which then revealed that he used to pay younger women for company. Despite that, Jasmine decided to stay with Gino.

As a result, fans took to Reddit to declare, "The TLC editors HATE Gino. And we’ve all benefited from it." The original poster pointed out that although Gino is reprehensible in his own right, producers and editors appear to enjoy painting him in an even more negative light. Gino's stint on Before The 90 Days has come across as so comical that viewers are struggling to believe his behavior. "I can’t even believe Gino is real, it’s so damn weird. He seems like a paid actor, a bad one [laughing emoji]," one commenter observed. Examples of Gino's embarrassing editing include the camera zooming in on his questionable styling choices and him going through a dozen pens in his bag. Overall, it appears that Gino is being portrayed in a bumbling and incompetent light.

Meanwhile, other users pointed out that Gino isn't the only 90 Day Fiancé star who appears to have angered the producers, as Memphis has received a particularly embarrassing edit as well. Many viewers were shocked that the editors left in the sounds of her in the bathroom while having an upset stomach. "Not as much as they hate Memphis. Every verbal flub she has makes the edit," one viewer commented in the thread. Other viewers noted that fellow American Ben Rathbun is also receiving a less-than-favorable edit this season. "They hate Ben too, playing sensual music while he changes then bringing up his shirt is inside out!" another commenter wrote.

While Memphis has been eager to agree that editing is to blame for her negative Before The 90 Days portrayal, other cast members have taken responsibility for how they come across on TV. Jasmine revealed on Instagram that she does not blame TLC or producers for airing her meltdown with Gino. Instead, Jasmine took responsibility for her actions and shouldered the consequences of her own behavior. Unfortunately, many other cast members would prefer to deflect blame to the producers or editors for the criticism they receive, especially given the number of villainous personalities shown on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 5.
