John McManus pulled away as the 90 Day Fiancé season 9 Tell-All winner, but many viewers faulted his younger brother, Patrick Mendes, for not coming to his defense. Though many franchise fans were highly entertained with John’s Tell-All antics, the older brother was a side character during season 9 while Patrick’s relationship with Brazilian woman Thaís Ramone was the main plotline for the family. However, many 90 Day Fiancé fans prefer John to Patrick, as Patrick failed to defend his brother.

Patrick and John have a complicated past that includes a troubled childhood. The two brothers are extremely close, with outspoken Boston man John assuming the protective role over his baby brother despite muscular Patrick appearing stronger. While Patrick loved living with his brother after his divorce from his first wife, his partner Thaís was extremely unhappy with the living situation. The Brazilian woman demanded that John move out, something that chaotic cast member Jibri Bell also echoed at the Tell-All during one of his many offensive tirades. Jibri appeared particularly angry with both John and Ariela Weinberg.

John triumphed as the Tell-All winner after he owned up to his mistakes and hilariously put the belligerent 90 Day Fiancé newcomer Jibri in his place. However, many viewers were left shocked that Patrick didn’t speak up for his protective older brother when Jibri repeatedly attacked John and even asserted that he was trailer trash. “All I can is… if someone was coming for my sibling, especially which I endured trauma with & bonded with as an adult, I would speak the f**k up,” Reddit user u/here4cheeseanddogs shared. Many users agreed that Patrick failed his older brother. “Pat is all bulk and no bite. Patrick looked weak af,u/JudgmentHumble8319 wrote before slamming Patrick for then inviting Jibri to his and Thaís’ baby shower after Jibri insulted Patrick's family.

John 90 Day Fiance Tell All

Many viewers voiced that 90 Day Fiancé newcomer Patrick should have shown loyalty to John, especially since John made it clear that he always has his brother’s back. Other users added that Patrick let his whole family down by not calling Jibri out and then continuing to be friends with him. “Also if he’s calling John trailer trash then that’s talking sh*t on his whole family basically,” u/micksies wrote. However, some users noted that Patrick might have had his reasons for staying quiet. “Pat clearly has issues with confrontation, while John welcomes it. That's probably how they've been all their lives,” u/EmotionalMycologist9 shared.

Overall, Patrick failed to impress many 90 Day Fiancé season 9 viewers with his silence. On the other hand, John earned loud applause from fans and fellow cast members alike due to him standing up to Jibri. Many viewers were appalled by Jibri’s antics and cited him as being the worst part of the Tell-All. While franchise fans have little interest in seeing Patrick and Thaís continue in the franchise due to their boring plotline, many fans would like to see more of John. Numerous 90 Day Fiancé followers are calling for him to be cast on Pillow Talk or 90 Day: The Single Life.
