Is Hazel Cagalitan pulling a fast one over on Tarik Myers? Some 90 Day Fiancé fans think so, as many of them have mentioned the possibility that Hazel likes women more than she likes men...or at least more than she likes her fiancé, Tarik.
When fans were first introduced to Hazel, the 28-year-old from the Philippines, she was shy and seemed uncomfortable around Tarik. It was her first time meeting the 46-year-old American she'd been talking to for three months. During their first season of 90 Day Fiancé, Hazel made sure Tarik didn't get too close, even creating a divide in the bed so he wouldn't try anything in the dark. In the newest season, however, Hazel has been much more outspoken and sure of herself, including her sexuality. She told Tarik she is bisexual and wants to pursue a relationship with a woman. Tarik and Hazel then became a throuple with a woman from Thailand named Minty. However, Hazel was jealous of Tarik and Minty's closeness, and she shut it down. Now, they're looking for a new person to join their relationship.
So, why are fans speculating that Hazel may like women more than men? Some think Hazel may not be bisexual, and may, in fact, only like women. They claim Hazel will leave Tarik once he brings her son to America and start dating women exclusively. Many fans tweeted things along the lines of, "Hazel sounds more excited about hot women in the U.S. than she ever did about Tarik." To many, the evidence for this is Hazel's lack of apparent attraction to Tarik. Even if she has come out of her shell around him compared to their first meeting with the divider in the bed, it's not easy to see their chemistry on screen.
While some fans think Hazel just wants to explore all sides of her sexuality without the watchful presence of her parents, many others think she already knows she prefers women over men. Variety writer Ashely Ray-Harris wrote, "I do think Tarik is a means to an end for Hazel, but I’m starting to think the end Hazel really wants is a cottage in Northampton and a lover who gets her Lilith Fair Revival tickets, if you get what I’m saying. I’m sure she’d let Tarik visit, though."
Even if Hazel is more attracted to women than she is to men, or even just to Tarik, bisexuality isn't always an even 50/50 split. Hazel is one of those cast members who holds her cards close to her chest, which is partly why so many viewers like to speculate about her and what she's really thinking.
