The 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 premiere hinted at trouble for several franchise couples, and Julia Trubkina and Brandon Gibbs are already getting on viewers’ nerves. The season 8 couple was originally well-liked by fans, who sympathized with Russian dancer Julia when she was forced to work on Brandon’s parents’ farm and live with her strict in-laws. Julia’s relatability tanked after she became the villain of the season 8 Tell-All. The couple’s living situation drama left many fans underwhelmed during the spin-off show’s season 6 premiere on Sunday night. It appears that many viewers are already sick of seeing the newlyweds.

At the Tell-All, Julia shocked fans by admitting to willingly doing Brandon’s farm work in order to spend more time with him. It was also revealed that the dancer chose to live with her in-laws because she didn’t like the apartments Brandon could afford. Julia was thrilled to go to Vegas with Brandon during the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off show premiere. She declared that they would never return to the farm as they had fallen in love with the big city. Brandon attempted to bring his wife back down to earth by reminding her that they cannot afford to live in Las Vegas. However, Julia appeared infatuated with urban life outside of Dinwiddie, Virginia.

Fans have been skeptical of Julia since her Tell-All revelations, which also saw her slamming plastic surgery and calling people lazy. Fans sided with Yara during the plastic surgery drama. One viewer posted a bored-looking picture of Asuelu Pulaa to the /90dayfiance subreddit with the caption, “Me watching another season of Brandon and Julia.” Another user said that they wanted to see a “rotating cast” rather than watch couples continually hash out their problems. Many agreed that they didn’t need to see a “second season” of Julia and Brandon arguing about the same issues. “Honestly I'm down for a new season with Brandon and Julia. Their storyline was really helpful for falling asleep, and I have insomnia most nights,” a snarky commenter wrote. Others remarked that the couple was active on social media and viewers didn’t need to see their contrived drama on the air.

Julia and Brandon are not the only pair that fans are disappointed to see on the spin-off show. “Tbh this is how I feel about Elizabeth's family getting another season,” one commenter wrote about the Potthast family. Others agreed that the lineup for the new season was highly disappointing, as Mike Youngquist and Natalie Mordovtseva (whose relationship drama was aired at the season 2 Tell-All) are another pair that fans don't really want to watch. “Same, except for me it’s Mike and Natalie that are going to do me in,” another person wrote. “I’m sure it’ll be the same tired storylines of Brandon and Julia issues with his mom and the farm, Angela and Michael not being here, Andre having issues with Elizabeth family blah blah blah blah 😴,” another underwhelmed viewer wrote. Overall, viewers appeared to be disappointed by the premiere episode.

The season 6 trailer showed that Julia and Brandon are in for problems, which means that more fan criticism is likely on the way. A furious Julia is seen pulling her signature line to go back to Russia when Brandon pays another female too much attention. Julia’s stark jealousy contrasts with the hilarious and relatable personality she displayed up until the season 8 Tell-All. Many viewers are looking forward to seeing more of season 8 couple Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren. They were absent from the premiere. The fan-favorite couple is embarking on a new parenthood journey, and Yara has won new fans by standing up to Julia over the plastic surgery issue. Julia and Brandon, who are earning money on Cameo despite the dip in popularity, may just become franchise villains as more 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? drama airs.
