The 90 Day Fiancé stars Tarik Myers and Hazel Cagalitan are back together after publicly splitting up on social media for the better part of a month. Fans were first introduced to this couple in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2, when Virginia Beach man Tarik traveled to the Philippines to meet and propose to Hazel. The two featured again in 90 Day Fiancé season 8 and tied the knot in June 2020. Aside from their marriage, their central plot point during season 8 was that Hazel supposedly wanted to find a girlfriend to join them. Although lots of viewers thought this meant that she was not committed to Tarik, many fans are still rooting for these two to stay together.
In early December, Tarik unfollowed Hazel on social media and shocked followers by seemingly comparing her to a snake. He later shared that she was no longer living with him and would be going back to the Philippines. Hazel's GoFundMe campaign was then posted, and raised $10,000, which she used to pay for a therapist and a lawyer. She claimed that Tarik was emotionally and physically abusive, which he denied. When the couple finally got married in 90 Day Fiancé season 8, many viewers took to Twitter to express that watching Tarik and Hazel get married made them cry. Viewers also loved that the couple included Tarik's daughter Auri, who is an autistic person, in their vows. The little girl was very attached to Hazel. During the 90 Day Fiancé season 8 Tell-All, Tarik and Hazel's fellow cast members were shaming them for looking for a girlfriend. Tarik and Hazel clapped back at their accusers, and the couple was applauded by many fans on Twitter for doing so. One Twitter user, @MichaelaThunde1, stated that she was "so glad" that Tarik and Hazel shut down negative comments about their relationship, expressing that "all consenting adult relationships are normal!" Twitter user @GhostCorgi_ also showed support for the couple, expressing that "polyamory relationships are real."
They do what makes them happy, despite the negativity
Fans applauded 90 Day Fiancé franchise star Hazel's New Year's video and her message to leave the negativity in 2021. Supporters took to the comments to encourage the couple to never let the negativity get involved in their relationship and to express how happy they were that the two were back together.
