Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh have been dealing with a decade of relationship issues, but the 90 Day Fiancé franchise couple has hit another low on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7, which has led to viewers accusing Jenny of holding Sumit back. Jenny, who is 63, is 30 years older than her husband and very far from the traditional Indian wife his parents desperately wanted for their son. As a result, Sumit’s parents have disowned him, though he is trying to win back their affection. While some Happily Ever After? fans think Jenny and Sumit are the least problematic couple, many think he'd be better off without her.

The recent episode of Happily Ever After? showed that after several years in India, it still isn’t easy for Jenny to go to the markets, nor is it possible for her to go home and cook. While Sumit wants his American wife to take on a more traditional role in their marriage, he also wants to expand his social life and work prospects. Sumit decided that he will jump back into work and up his plan to work seven days a week rather than five. However, Jenny didn't like the idea of Sumit working, going out and drinking and socializing while she is alone. Reddit user u/harvs221 shared a screenshot from the recent episode of Happily Ever After? that saw Sumit informing Jenny about his new work plan and Jenny saying "Where does Jenny come in all of this?" The user wrote back, "Jenny absolutely does not want Sumit to have a life outside of her."

90 Day Fiancé Fans Say Sumit & Jenny Are At Different Stages In Life

Jenny and Sumit have made it clear they are in love, but viewers think that their different life stages have become undeniable. "The fact that they're at totally different stages of life has never been more apparent," u/laurshel observed. While Jenny and Sumit look cozy on 90 Day Fiancé would have been better off finding a retired man closer to her age rather than choose someone so much younger. "And there are many out there who could be a good fit, and could offer her companionship and a comfortable life. But instead she chose this goofy, too-young-for-her boy from a very different culture," u/blackberrypietoday2 wrote in response to a comment that Jenny needs a man who is 70 and retired.

Many viewers noted how Jenny wants Sumit to live like he's retired, not a person in their 30s. Some commenters compared Jenny to other older 90 Day Fiancé stars who control their partners, such as Big Ed Brown and Angela Deem. Viewers went so far as to speculate whether Sumit was inventing extra work to get a break from Jenny. "I low key think he’s saying that cuz he’s getting sick of Jenny and wants to go back to his family and spend time with them," u/Active_Class_9963 shared.

While Big Ed and Angela have loudly been criticized by 90 Day Fiancé fans, some Happily Ever After viewers are starting to realize that Jenny also exhibits some of the same domineering traits as the notorious franchise villains. This was especially apparent when Jenny became aggressive during a fight with Sumit. Though he claims to love her deeply, many viewers think Sumit should split with Jenny. 90 Day Fiancé fans find that Sumit should live his life while he is young and not let Jenny hold him back due to her insecurities.
