Fans of 90 Day Fiancé will undoubtedly remember singer-songwriter Evelyn Cormier, who married her Spanish beau David Vázquez Zermeño when she was only 18. But are the couple still happily married today?
22-year-old Cormier met 30-year-old Vázquez Zermeño when he reached out to her online after listening to her original music. After getting engaged in Vázquez Zermeño's hometown of Granada, Spain, Vázquez Zermeño moved to Cormier's hometown of Claremont, New Hampshire. Despite clashing over Cormier's desire to live in her small town while Vázquez Zermeño preferred city life, the pair got married on season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé. The Christian couple were also open with viewers about their decision to wait until marriage to have sex.
Cormier's stint on 90 Day Fiancé isn't her only reality TV appearance - the singer competed on season 17 of American Idol. She wowed the judges with her unique voice in her initial audition and advanced to the Top 14, but was ultimately eliminated when fans were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite contestants. While Cormier was filming American Idol in Los Angeles, her husband supported her from their home in New Hampshire. In September 2019, the couple officially made the move to Los Angeles together, where they currently reside.
However, the couple have faced their fair share of speculation about their marriage. Cormier took to Instagram to set the record straight about why she sometimes chooses to forego wearing her wedding ring: “I do a lot of modeling, so I’m in the water, on the beach, wherever. And it looks out of place.” Cormier also discussed why she refrains from sharing too many personal details on social media: "David is a very private person and I just try to respect that. My page is mostly for my music." Cormier shared a series of sweet photos to her Instagram page of the couple's wedding day to commemorate their third anniversary this October. "It’s hard to believe the time that’s gone by, and how much the two of us have grown and matured (still growing and still maturing btw) in the process," she captioned.
Cormier and Vázquez Zermeño's marriage seems to be going strong as Cormier advances her music and modeling careers. The pair are currently spending the holidays with Cormier's family in New Hampshire, where they celebrated Cormier's 22nd birthday on December 15. Vázquez Zermeño shared a throwback photo of his wife on his Instagram page, captioning it "It’s a pleasure to share life with you!"
