Reddit user U/Ginger_Soul99 shared Evelin's sympathy message to Reddit with the caption, "Evilyn lost the bar?" after Evelin cited losing her bar as one of the many reasons why the last two years have been terrible for her. Commenters immediately analyzed the situation and revealed that Evelin's former business might not have been what it appeared. "From what I have read, her and Corey opened a bar (more of a hut without walls) on land they didn’t own and didn’t seek permission from the land owner. The land owner destroyed the bar and told them to get lost. Now she claims she has 'lost her bar'," the post's top comment reads. "Someone else said it was public property. Either way it was completely their stupidity," the original poster wrote back.
Corey memorably sunk what he estimated to be $40K into Evelin's bar, so the American might not be in the best financial situation now that Evelin no longer has it. However, not all commenters were surprised that the couple lost the property. "It’s a really common practice in parts of Latin America. You 'take over' land and then it’s yours. If someone else already owned it they come back to fight for it back," another commenter explained. Though Evelin attempted to elicit sympathy with her post, she did not appear to win any viewers over after she has aired her chronically bad behavior. "I definitely feel no sympathy for her.
