The Other Way star Evelin Villega defended her reason behind why she doesn't feel the need to have children with fiancé Cory. Evelin was faced with backlash after the show revealed that she and her fiancé chose not have children.
There was conflict on the show when Evelin confronted Cory's family about certain relationship expectations in Ecuadorian culture. However, when she explained that it's expected for the husband to provide for the wife in Ecuadorian culture, Cory's mother chimed in about woman being expected to have children, which led to Evelin explaining that motherhood wasn't in her plans. Since 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way premiered a few weeks ago, there have been plenty of viewers - especially women - who have been vocal on social media about her decision to not have children.
Last week, Evelin took to her Instagram to set things straight about herself and to defend her decision to be child-free. On her post, which featured Evelin and her pets, she talks about all of her experience with children and how she feels confident in her ability to be a mother if she chooses to. She said, "I honestly feel like I am more prepare [sic] to be a mother than lot of the women judging me." Check out the post below:
The 90 Day Fiancé star explained how hard it is to feel judged by other women about her choice to not have children with her soon-to-be-husband, Cory. In her post, she wrote, "Women are the worst enemy of women ... no woman should be judge [sic] for having or not having kids." She then explained that she is very independent, and although it's in her culture for men to provide and for the women to stay at home, Evelin makes it clear that she enjoys working and doesn't want to be stuck at home.
Although Evelin is saying no to children right now, she explains that motherhood isn't entirely off the table for their future, saying, "I respect it so much but I decided that is not for me, maybe later it'll be when I can be the best mother in every way." Also, the 90 Day Fiancé star hints around at other ways of coming into motherhood, like adoption, saying, "Who knows me knows that my dream is to adopt kids that have no family."
So, although fans might be worried that family man Cory won't be able to have the big family that he desires, the couple seems confident in their relationship. Keeping in mind that Evelin is only 26 years old, some fans have commented on the post, praising what they consider a wise decision, not rushing into having kids right away. That said, Evelin did reply on a comment on her Instagram post, saying, "Yeah, if I ever get pregnant for some reason I will for sure have the baby." For now, only time will tell.
