90 Day Fiancé's Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber revealed that they broke up but are still stuck in lockdown together in Ecuador. The couple has been on a roller coaster with their unstable relationship which made for some great television, but an unhappy ending between the two.

The couple first met while Rathgeber was on vacation and spotted Villegas surfing. After a quick courtship their story was documented on the first season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Rathgeber decided to give up his whole life and move down to his girlfriend’s hometown which was a shock compared to his American luxuries. The small town had one dirt road and only some houses had running water and electricity. During the course of their relationship, the two have had to handle the death of his father and numerous cheating scandals. While the pair never married on the show, it was revealed that they were in fact married due to documents revealing Corey's marital status as "married."

Villegas recently updated her followers that the couple had officially broken up. She announced the news via her Instagram stories. She then dropped the bomb that even though they had split up they were still being forced to quarantine together thanks to the Coronavirus. The news was shared by Instagram account @90dayfiancénews, as Villegas’s profile was set to private. The Ecuadorian also shared that even though the once engaged couple has separated, they still would remain best friends. The quote reads, "Just a quick updated [sic] now that the what now is up, Corey and I broke up. We are stuck in quarantine together but that's just it. We are friends and always will [be]. Have a good day." Check out the post below, (via @90dayfiancenews):

Fans are still unsure about what has caused the breakup, as everything seemed fine between them as they were spotted stocking up on supplies before the forced isolation. Whatever the issue was that finally forced them to break up, fans are hoping that the couple decides to remain separated, as it's obvious that the two make better friends than lovers.

Villegas has always been in the middle of the controversy as many fans felt that she was just dating Rathgeber for his money. Most of the American’s savings were going to a restaurant that his fiancée owned. Many TLC viewers found that she was selfish and only thought about herself, never wanting to give the United States a chance. She was portrayed as the villain as she was also found to be flirting with an old flame who did not seem to ever want to be the Washington State native’s wife. Most fans think this would be a good time for Rathgeber to restart his love life back in his home state.
