Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber have been receiving a cold reception from viewers, and it hasn't improved after the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Corey and Evelin were already a controversial casting choice for season 3. Viewers were then furious to discover that Corey and Evelin lied about their relationship status. Now, 90 Day Fiancé fans are voicing that the couple should leave the franchise due to their boring drama.
Corey and Evelin's relationship confuses viewers, as Evelin is extremely rude to Corey yet he constantly remains by her side. Viewers expressed that Evelin would never commit to Corey via marriage despite his desire to wed. However, Evelin shocked her sisters by admitting she actually married Corey a year prior to the filming of season 3. The Ecuadorian woman said she kept their relationship a secret so she would have the option to divorce Corey without her family knowing. Evelin's sisters, who notoriously dislike her American partner, then thought it was funny to trick Corey into eating a soup that contained animal penises. Overall, many viewers are not impressed with the progression – or lack thereof – of Evelin and Corey's plot.
Reddit user U/SyllabubUnited7920 shared a photo of Evelin and Corey with the caption, "Does anyone else fast-forward through their segments?" Many commenters agreed they are completely frustrated with Evelin and Corey's storyline. "I wish TLC kicked them off the show for pretending to still be single," one angry commenter wrote. Others added the couple's plot was not only fake but boring. "Can’t stand them. Don’t know why they’re still on. They’re still boring," one fan wrote. Many commenters echoed that the couple's story was extremely stale, as it never progresses onscreen. "I couldn't imagine being assigned as the crew that have to follow them around for months...I would have lost it," one viewer expressed.
One of the leading reasons fans dislike Evelin and Corey as a couple centers on the way Evelin treats Corey. "I dislike her so much. She's so evil. Her and her sisters are awful," one commenter wrote. Evelin's sisters are currently being called out for the way they treated Corey in the recent episode, as well as their general dislike of him. Evelin's attitude and meanness have led to viewers questioning why the couple is together. "She’s awful and he is like dead inside or something. She’s always come across as being sort of mean, even cruel, and I never see her laugh or smile or have fun, ever. Why these two would marry us beyond me. Am I missing something???" another commenter asked.
Though viewers are overwhelmingly against Evelin's relationship with Corey, there is someone fans would like to see Corey date. Evelin has called Corey out for cheating on her after he saw a woman in Peru while the couple was broken up. Fans would like to see Corey and his Peruvian partner Jenny try to make things work out. Overall, viewers find that any woman would be better for Corey than Evelin. Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewers are sick of seeing Corey mistreated by Evelin and her family season after season.
