While Corey Rathgeber plans to get married to Evelin Villegas again, the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way bride has discovered a cunning new way in which she could divorce him. Ecuador resident Evelin and Washington’s Corey planned to stay in America, but she soon got homesick and he decided to move to Engabao permanently. Evelin’s cheating scandal rocked their relationship on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off’s debut season, ultimately leading to them secretly getting married. With Evelin’s family being against divorces, she decided to not reveal her secret so as to easily leave Corey when the opportunity arrived. But years later, Corey is still staying with her, as Evelin keeps hatching new plans to escape the relationship.
Given that Evelin and Corey were in a good place when they tied the knot, she may not have predicted that they would break up once again and he would end up cheating on her. When Evelin found out that Corey had an affair with Jenny and not just a vacation fling, she knew she couldn’t get back together with him. But Corey, being Corey, refused to leave or divorce Evelin. He somehow convinced her that he would change for her and has now returned into her life on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. To kickstart their formal wedding ceremony, Corey also proposed to Evelin in the most cringey way possible, and she did say yes halfheartedly.
In a YouTube clip on the 90 Day Fiancé channel for the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Evelin tells Corey that she wants their marriage to be performed by “a normal person” and someone who has “no religion.” Mormon man Corey reminds her about how important God and religion are to not just his but also Evelin’s family. But Evelin argues that she doesn’t want to get married according to her family’s religion “because they believe if you get married through God, it’s 'til death do us part.” Not believing what he’s just heard, Corey exclaims, “That is marriage, Evelin.” In the comments, 90 Day Fiancé fans agreed with Corey, who thinks that with this master plan, Evelin can end the marriage at any point she wants because it’s “not through God.”
