Come July 18, a new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off called Love in Paradise: The Caribbean will premiere on Discovery+ bringing along a whole new set of couples to love and hate. And thanks to its exciting new trailer, fans are already looking forward to meeting these new 90 Day Fiancé cast members who’ve found their love in the Caribbean. The latest in the growing list of the franchise’s spin-offs, the sexy docu-soap introduces four pairs after being teased initially in May. But while fans may expect some easy-breezy romances to binge on, Love in Paradise: The Caribbean promises a dramatic storm ahead.

Fans tasted the salty sea air recently on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 with cast member Stephanie Davison visiting the Caribbean country of Belize to hula hoop with cousins Ryan and Harris. However, the experience left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth after Stephanie revealed the shocking backstory of her reality-TV romance. Alongside, Discovery+, despite the fanfare it was launched with, faced flak due to its high subscription rates and lack of newer episodes, until fans decided its 90 Day: The Single Life spin-off was much better than most of TLC’s recent 90 Day Fiancé shows combined.

In the same vein of entertaining and fresh as 90 Day: The Single Life, Love in Paradise: The Caribbean was introduced with a trailer as per E! Online showing breathtaking glimpses of Panama, Costa Rica, Barbados, and Jamaica, with each love story taking place in a different country. There’s Sherlon who’s a Jamaican boat tour guide who also moonlights at a swinger’s resort which he describes as, “Crazy stuff goes on there.” Illinois-based Aryanna was visiting the tropical paradise when she met Sherlon and after a brief “unprotected” fling became pregnant with his baby. Now, at six months pregnant, Aryanna, is back in Jamaica, where one of her friends also asks Sherlon, “Is this your first child or do you have some more kids with some more tourists?”

Aryanna's visit to Sherlon’s apartment in the “Real Jamaica” is reminiscent of Ariela Weinberg seeing Biniyam’s Shibre’s place in Ethiopia for the first time. And immediately the 90 Day Fiancé couple erupts in a fight as Sherlon declares their decision made in the “heat of the moment in paradise”  is a “big mistake” and he can’t be “forced to get married” by Aryanna.

Then there’s Miami local Martine and Barbados-based DJ Steven, having an on-again, off-again relationship after meeting on a cruise ship three years ago. The 90 Day Fiancé-style drama begins are Martine learns of Steven cheating on her while acknowledging that his work as a DJ somehow gets people to “throw themselves at him.” Martine believes a man who wants to be with her should make his intentions “diamond clear” but upon confronting him about an infidelity suspicion again, Steven asks her to get out of his face.

Amber and Daniel are the Costa Rica couple on Love in Paradise: The Caribbean with a controversial age gap. All set to get married, Amber goes back to Costa Rica where she and Daniel first met, but despite meeting him after 12 months, she had doubts about him seeing her just as a sugar mama. Certain events that make Amber feel that she’s been kept in the dark arise, as the 90 Day Fiancé newbie declares, “I don’t even know who you are,” making her wonder if Steven is worthy of filing the K-1 visa.

Lastly, the fourth star couple from Love in Paradise: The Caribbean is Mark and Key, who first met in Bocas del Toro, Panama a decade ago, but have reunited after spending decades apart. “I let Key get away one and I'm not going to let that happen again,” says American man Mark in the 90 Day Fiancé trailer, in the hopes that Kay will relocate to California’s Huntington Beach with him. However, Kay seems to think their relationship is moving too fast she tells Mark, “I love you, but don’t rush me,” as he gives her a menacing ultimatum.

However, while revealing the juiciest tidbits from the 90 Day Fiancé couples' storylines, the trailer also leaves a lot to the imagination. Fans who anyway seem irked by TLC recycling the same old storylines and couples cannot wait to see new faces entertaining them. Still, the question remains if Love in Paradise: The Caribbean becomes as big a success as Discovery Plus' most talked about 90 Day: The Single Life.
