The 25-year-old Utah resident Deavan was last seen on 90 Day Fiancé, during which she married her former partner, Jihoon Lee. During the couple's stint on the show, they got pregnant with their son, Taeyang, but didn't really seem to be in love. Shortly after they wed and became parents, they broke up.
For months, Deavan has been helping her child as he lives with cancer, following her separation from Jihoon. She previously claimed that her ex-husband did not want to play a part in Taeyang's recovery process. Fortunately, the Utah mom has a few close family members who are supporting her through this difficult time. One is her current partner, Christopher "Topher" Park, who's also the father of Deavan's third baby. The other is her mother, Elicia Clegg, who's been taking care of Taeyang's GoFundMe donation page, and updating concerned 90 Day Fiancé fans.
Taeyang Struggled With Headaches Amid Cancer Treatment
The last three months have been quite crucial in terms of Deavan's son's recovery, as he had a newer treatment, after months of battling, "B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia." In September, Elicia posted a major update on the aforementioned GoFundMe page, discussing her grandson's recovery. She stated that he has been, "taking the chemotherapy in-stride," and had become, "immune" to the side effects. She then shared sadder news, saying that his condition had suddenly worsened, as he began vomiting. She added that the little boy had been, "suffering horrific headaches," and showed concern over the next few months of treatment. She wrote, "As we draw near to the winter months, I am afraid of this new part of the journey."
Taeyang Feels Tired After Treatment
Elicia shared some good news at the beginning of October, revealing that Taeyang's nose bleeds didn't lower his platelet count. She added, "Today's treatment went so well, he took his chemotherapy with stride, no sickness." She also said that the little boy handled the Lumbar Puncture with confidence. Deavan's mom shared that Taeyang will soon receive aggressive treatment, via a medication with a, "20% allergic reaction rate." In mid-October, Elicia posted a clip of Taeyang feeling down and sad. She wrote, "Taeyang made it through this new treatment period without any real complications," adding that was grateful for that.
Deavan Clegg and Her Son Face A Setback
Near the beginning of November, Deavan's mother posted a big update about her, "Brave Little Warrior," and his battle with the horrible disease. She wrote that doctors had canceled the treatment for the day because Taeyang's blood work was worrisome. Elicia explained that her grandson's, "neutrophils were too low." She explained that his body needed another week to recover before the treatment could begin again. On November 11, Elicia posted heartbreaking news about Taeyang, writing, "He had another treatment and his labs came back, not so good." She added that her grandson has only finished a quarter of his treatment, and still has 1.5 years to go. She asked 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans to keep Taeyang in their prayers.
