90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans who usually bash Jihoon Lee for his incompetence pitied him in the latest episode, after his wife Deavan Clegg made him withdraw all his savings. The Korean husband proved that he wasn’t lying about his meager savings, but Deavan tried to justify her actions by telling 90 Day Fiancé fans that she’s spent $50,000 on him.

Last week’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way saw Jihoon, 29, and his American wife (23-year-old Deavan) have a major altercation over finances. Deavan, who had been frustrated with her husband’s lies and excuses since she’d landed in Seoul, blamed him for scamming her. Jihoon, who’d earlier coaxed Deavan to move to South Korea with kids in tow, got cold feet. She admitted that Jihoon lied about having a proper job. He confessed to having spent most of his money on friends and outings. Whatever was left went into his mother Jung’s account. Deavan expressed her concerns to Jihoon and her in-laws, but they got lost in translation, A translation gadget failed to convey either of their statements. A frustrated Jihoon stormed off... and Deavan threatened to go back to America, but later asked him to prove his seriousness by showing her the $3,000 he’d saved up – in cash. Jihoon and his reluctant mom rushed to an ATM and handed over the money to Deavan, and the two seemed to reconcile a bit later. However, fans found Deavan’s behavior to be embarrassing... so much so that she had to put up an Instagram story with a breakdown of how much she’s spent on Jihoon to date.

90 Day Fiancé viewers talk about how Deavan has been keeping score in the relationship and threatening Jihoon with losing own son by saying that she may leave Korea. After being chided for her apparently irresponsible and immature behavior in the latest episode, Deavan took to her social media, according to this post at Reddit, and listed some things: “Worked 60 hours a week. Paid for Vegas. Paid for travel back and forth. Paid for hospital bills. Paid for food for him [Jihoon], Paid for housing/drinks - $50000”. This indicated how much she had paid for out of her own pocket. She also wrote that “It wasn’t about his money,” referring to the ATM episode “I just wanted proof he actually saved some.” She added, “I make my own money and always have. It’s about if he actually did the things he said.” This was Deavan referencing the lies that Jihoon told her on 90 Day Fiancé , in order to make her fly down to Seoul. She continued her side of the story with Jihoon’s list of excuses: “I was told [that] I speak English/I have two jobs/I finished college/I’ve saved $20000 for a house. I have a lot of money.” The 90 Day Fiancé star again mentioned how the withdrawal request wasn't about the money: “It was the fact that I wanted proof he didn’t lie to me,” she wrote.

A few fans pointed out how, a couple of weeks back, Deavan had asked the viewers on her OnlyFans to give her money for breast augmentation surgery. They wondered why she needed money for that when she seemed to have a lot of money of her own. Some 90 Day Fiancé viewers are also wanting to know how she continued the relationship (and even got married to Jihoon) if she wasn’t comfortable with him not knowing English. There’s only so much that a translator can do, especially since she didn’t make an effort to learn Korean.

The next episode has the 90 Day Fiancé couple moving into a new apartment, but fans have a feeling that their newfound happiness will be short-lived due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Deavan’s mother Elicia has confirmed that her daughter is back home in America with her two children, while also dismissing rumors of a possible separation from Jihoon. With Jihoon’s latest Instagram tirade *he posted, “I’m done” and deleted all posts), this seems to be unbelievable, but isn’t that exactly how 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way functions?
