90 Day Fiancé’s Deavan Clegg suffers a severe injury from botched lip injections. The Utah native was only days away from losing her lips but luckily some unlikely help came to her aid.
The model was half of the young couple, who now stars on the hit TLC spin-off, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The two met in person after hitting it off on a dating app; Clegg was from Salt Lake City, while Jihoon Lee lived in South Korea. After corresponding for a couple of months, Lee took the leap and went to visit Clegg in Utah, not knowing he would get her pregnant on the very first night they met. Lee stayed in the US for three months learning of her pregnancy on his last day. The young mother moved to South Korea after the birth of their couple’s son to be married and become a family.
While known for her looks as she made her career as a catalog model, Clegg almost lost her lips to a botched lip filler session. The mother of two documented her struggle on Instagra, where she explained that she went to have her lips injected so they would look plumper but was instead injected with an unknown substance that almost caused her to lose her lips. She revealed, "In Korea I decided to get lip fillers before doing research. The product they injected had not been tested." She continued to explain that her lip injections were "injected incorrectly," and that she had such severe damage that her "lip was dying." See Clegg's before and after photos on Instagram below:
After what was supposed to be a simple procedure, Clegg’s lips started showing some red flags. During the couple of days that proceeded the procedure, the TLC star’s lips swelled and she developed sores that began to peel like a sunburn. Clegg contacted the doctor who told her that her lips were just healing but after enough time had passed, she noticed disfiguration and large lumps in her lips. Fortune had it that Clegg and Jihoon had planned a trip back home to Las Vegas where she reached out to fellow 90 Day Fiancé star, Larissa Dos Santos Lima, who put her in touch with Heather Rohrer, the owner of Center for Aesthetic Medicine and Human Performance. Clegg wrote, "Heather saved my lip from dying and I am so happy thank you so much for saving my lip it means the world and ladies and gentlemen check her out she is absolutely amazing." Ms. Rohrer was able to then treat the bad filler over a four-day period and dissolved the lumps, restoring Clegg’s lips back to normal and even giving them the pouty look she desired in the first place.
The young mother thanks to her friend over Instagram posting that she was very thankful for the help that Dos Santos Lima gave. The model was only left with a bit of bruising but said she would make a full recovery. While a botched lip job was not what Clegg was expecting, she hopes that she can be a voice of reason for women who are looking to alter their appearance, saying to search out a medically trained doctor and ask what concoction will be used on you. Clegg reminded fans it's perfectly normal to want injections to feel beautiful, but as a word of warning to make sure they take the time and research the clinic and the procedure before going under the needle.
