90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star, Jihoon Lee has admitted once again that Deavan Clegg is not his parents' dream daughter-in-law. Fans have pointed out that it does not look like Deavon puts in much effort to connect with her new family.
Fan-favorite couple, Jihoon and Deavan are hoping that their second attempt of living together in Korea will work. The couple has returned for the second season of 90 Day Fiancé The Other Way. The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is one of the most popular cable network reality television shows on the air right now, and Deavan is always bringing in views for her straight-shooting attitude.
During Monday’s new episode of the hit TLC show, Jihoon Lee decided to be extremely candid with viewers when he told the cameras that Deavan Clegg was not his mother’s idea of a perfect daughter-in-law. Jihoon’s mother has openly stated that she wished Deavan was Korean so they could converse with her and cook together in the kitchen. Upon hearing the news, Deavan was upset but fans thought that the couple had moved past the situation after the last reunion.
Apparently, the idea of being a bad daughter-in-law still weighed heavily upon the mother of two. While Deavan prepared to meet up with her husband who she has not seen in two months, she was aggravated that she also saw her in-laws standing in the airport. Fans could not understand why a reunion would be hindered by seeing her in-laws since they clearly had come to help and rented a car to drive them an hour to their B&B. For Jihoon’s parents, the worse part was being introduced to Deavan’s mother, Elicia. Upon meeting at the airport, she hugged them to death which caused the microphone to catch Jihoon’s father saying he was being "suffocated." Elicia then proceeded to have a meltdown due to the crazy driving. She also dropped the F-bomb countless times, leading Jihoon to tell the cameras that it was good his parents did not know what that word meant.
With two very different worlds colliding, it is normal to have cultural clashes. TLC fans are a bit worried that some of the hurdles may be a bit too much for the couple or their families to get over. On a sneak peek for next week’s episode, the cameras showed Deavon giving her husband an ultimatum. Only time will tell if the duo decides to work out their differences and if Jihoon's mom will finally accept Deavan.
