90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Day's fans are wondering how David could have had a relationship with a 17-year-old Lana. Apparently, their relationship didn't break any Russian consent laws. The couple has raised eyebrows thanks to their age massive age gap.
When fans met David Murphy, his only dream was to sell his home and move into an RV with his foreign wife. The only hitch is fans have still not met the Ukrainian beauty. Many viewers believe that she is just running a scam on the old man as they have been talking for seven years through a sketchy dating website. Fans know that Lana was currently 24-years-old, so that means she was 17-years-old when she began talking to David. Lana has been actively avoiding meeting David four times before she finally agreed to meet in front of TLC cameras on the fifth and final attempt.
After finally meeting Lana face to face during the Sunday’s all-new episode, fans grew alarmingly concerned that Lana may have in fact been underage when she first started talking to David. According to Russia’s age of consent, she would have had to be at least 16 years of age to legally be allowed to talk with a man David’s age. Any child who is 15-years-old or younger would not be legally allowed to consent to any form of sexual activity. Fans have already done the math with the information provided by the couple, so it seems they were legal as Lana was 17-years-old, beyond the legal age of consent in Russia.
When interviewing Lana, she let slip that she had been talking to other men via the website as well, but viewers are not sure how old she would have been during that particular time. The Ukrainian’s profile shows her all dolled up, with dyed blonde hair and sexy outfits. Many viewers feel the website used is a platform to have older, American men find and date extremely young Russian’s or Ukrainians as they often long for a life in America. David himself has come under fire for the creepy moaning sounds he makes when he talks or interacts with Lana, leaving fans feeling very uncomfortable for their relationship.
Fans are suspicious that Lana is just using the gullible old man for a green card to a better life and would not be surprised if she were to leave if a better option were to be presented itself. Leaked footage of the reunion showed that David felt producers edited his story to make Lana look bad, but in reality, true TLC fans can see right through both of them, no editing was needed.
