Many couples have broken up in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and when some of those relationships crumbled, it was a major relief to viewers. For a variety of reasons, certain couples were seen as toxic on the show. So, when they split, fans felt like it was the best outcome for everyone involved.
It’s no surprise that so many 90 Day Fiancé franchise couples decide to call it quits - the core show and its multiple spin-offs place cast members in difficult situations. As such, many relationships don’t end up surviving the turmoil. Some couples break up more amicably than others, and in some instances, fans are disappointed to see them split up.
Though there have been a few success stories in the franchise, there have also been a number of terrible relationships that seem to be detrimental to the couple. Sometimes, it can even be detrimental to their families. When such couples decide to break up, fans are generally happy to see them finally go their separate ways.
Nicole Nafziger & Azan Tefou
It was only recently that Nicole and Azan confirmed their breakup, but viewers were glad to hear that they were officially over. Though Nicole wasn’t exactly a fan-favorite, there was a lot of concern for the wellbeing of her daughter May. Many viewers were shocked when Nicole brought May to visit Azan in Morocco and told her Azan was her new dad. Fans were in favor of the breakup, even if only for May’s sake.
Jason Hitch & Cassia Tavares
Jason and Cassia were a very mismatched couple, so it was no shocker that their marital bliss didn’t last long. Their fights quickly became explosive, and after Cassia got Jason arrested on charges of domestic battery, fans were concerned for her safety. When they broke up, it was a positive decision for Cassia, who has since gotten remarried and is living her best life in Europe.
Molly Hopkins & Luis Mendez
Some viewers thought that it was clear on 90 Day Fiancé season 5 that Luis was with Molly just to get a green card. Though a lot of fans were critical of Molly for falling for Luis’ lies, they were worried about Luis’ influence on Molly’s two daughters. Luis would often mock them and say certain inappropriate things, so when he and Molly finally split up, fans felt it was for the best.
Michael Jessen & Juliana Custodio
Viewers were skeptical of Michael and Juliana’s relationship from the get-go because of the drastic age difference between them. It seemed that Michael wanted a trophy wife, and their marriage felt icky to a lot of fans. Recently, Juliana and Michael announced they are getting a divorce, and now Juliana seems happier than ever.
Mike Youngquist & Natalie Mordovtseva
It was hard to say who was more miserable in their relationship, Mike or Natalie, so when they finally revealed their plans to divorce, fans were relieved. Viewers were split over whether Mike or Natalie was worse, so no matter who they supported, the breakup was seen as a good thing. Ending a relationship can be hard, but in Mike and Natalie’s case, things couldn’t possibly be worse than when they were together.
Ed Brown & Rose Vega
Fans quickly soured on Ed when he arrived in the Philippines to meet his girlfriend Rose for the first time. He was disrespectful towards her in many ways, and viewers were happy when Rose stood up for herself and dumped her judgmental boyfriend. Ed was slammed for his toxic behavior toward Rose, so their breakup was celebrated by fans.
Breakups are nothing new in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. However, even relationships that end in heartbreak can ultimately be the best-case scenario. Though these couples called it quits, there were no tears from viewers.
