First, Ariela Weinburg surprised viewers by becoming a villain due to her close relationship with her ex-husband Leandro Fosque, despite her partnership with Biniyam Shibre. Meanwhile, Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber were slammed for showcasing a marriage plotline, even though they admitted to being secretly married for two years.
While Ariela and Evelin were early-season villains, their actions were quickly outshined by those of newcomer Steven Johnston. The now-husband of young Russian woman Alina has earned a spot as one of the most notorious cast members in the entire 90 Day Fiancé franchise. This is because he tried to use his Mormon faith to control and manipulate Alina. Many 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans were furious about Steven's behavior, which left viewers curious about his current relationship status, and the statuses of the other five couples post-show.
Evelin Villegas & Corey Rathgeber
Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber were the first to admit that they are in a very bad place since their marriage. Though the couple had their dream wedding on TV, their relationship has been crumbling ever since. Evelin admitted that watching the show led made her angry over her past issues with Corey, including his relationship with Peruvian woman Jenny while they were broken up. Seeing an unshown clip of Corey admitting to having feelings for Jenny caused Evelin to break down in tears and feel furious. Corey added that Evelin was seeing a therapist, and both of them admitted that they loved each other, but couldn't say for certain if their marriage would last. However, Corey and Evelin have revealed on Instagram that they are working things out on their "pre-honeymoon" escapades in Central America.
Steven Johnston & Alina
Steven Johnston and Alina provided easily the most shocking relationship update, as the American appeared in the studio and Alina called in. Steven admitted to seeing his ex-girlfriend Vanessa two days before traveling to marry Alina in Turkey, and he also betrayed his wife by speaking to nine women online recently. Steven confessed to receiving naked pictures and sending back selfies and flirtatious messages to the ladies online. Vanessa, who revealed that Steven had also cheated on her, arrived to tearfully urge Alina to do the best for herself by leaving Steven. However, Alina said that she already decided she isn't leaving Steven. However, Kenneth Niedermier privately got Steven to admit that he potentially wasn't ready for a relationship. Meanwhile, Alina wrote on Instagram that she is excited to see what the future holds.
Ariela Weinberg & Biniyam Shibre
Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre faced a rocky path on season 3, but the couple arrived together at the studio. This confirmed that Biniyam was living in the United States. Ariela shared that the change has improved their relationship, as it proved the couple truly wanted to be together. However, the return of Ariela’s ex Leandro led to Biniyam saying he wants her ex-husband to back off, and his sentiments got the approval of fellow cast members. However, Leandro said that he would only back off if Ariela told him to. Meanwhile, Ariela fought with Biniyam’s sisters Mimi and Wish and declared that she was completely ending her relationships with Biniyam's meddling sisters.
Jenny Slatten & Sumit Singh
Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh finally got married during The Other Way season 3, after a decade-long relationship saga. Jenny told viewers that she and Sumit had finally made it, which led to a round of applause for the duo. However, Sumit admitted that he still hadn’t told his parents that he and Jenny had made things official. This led to a surprise video call to Sumit’s parents, during which host Shaun Robinson tried to force Sumit to confess to his marriage. Sumit's parents made it clear that they don't support him marrying Jenny. Sumit chose to not drop his marriage bombshell on TV, as he said he needed to tell his parents in person. Jenny and Sumit have yet to reveal on social media how the conversation went.
Ellie Rose & Victor McLean
Ellie Rose and Victor McLean ended up seeing their story reduced the most during season 3, as they grappled with relationship issues and the aftermath of the hurricane in Providencia. Though the duo arrived together at the studio, their relationship (including a presumed marriage) was clearly not in a good place. Ellie's loyal friend Hiromi arrived at the studio to call out Victor for his cheating and label Ellie cheap. Ellie hesitated when she was asked if she trusted Victor, and she also admitted that he takes his anger issues out on her in inappropriate ways. Ellie and Victor are both very private on social media, but they are believed to still be together, despite some major ups and downs.
Kenneth Niedermeier & Armando Rubio
Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio are one of the most beloved couples in the entire 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and the couple is still together after their beautiful wedding, even though Kenny was currently in the U.S. awaiting his grandchild’s birth. Kenny and Armando basked in the heartwarming acceptance they received from Armando’s conservative father. However, Kenny and Armando are facing some issues from Kenny’s children, who don't want Kenny and Armando to welcome a baby via IVF.
While Armando’s family wants them to have a biological baby, Kenny’s children want him to adopt because they worry that their father will start over with a baby and new life and forget about them.
