Corey and Evelin are arguably one of the series' most controversial couples. Throughout the series, many fans felt that Evelin did not appreciate Corey, who moved to Ecuador to be with her. When he proposed to her, she said she never wanted to get married but reluctantly accepted anyway. Fans were outraged when she was then shown demanding an elaborate $50,000 wedding. However, it was recently revealed that the pair secretly got married about a week after 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 aired, so fans criticized their entire plot line for being fake. The couple split up several times throughout their relationship. Corey went to Peru during one of these splits and spent time with a woman named Jenny. Some fans have been so against Evelin's treatment of Corey that they think Corey should leave Evelin and be with Jenny.
Recently, Corey shared a photo on Instagram of him and Evelin embracing while looking at a sunset. His caption addressed the situation with Jenny, but he did not call her by name. Referring to her as "the other girl," Corey said he doesn't want to use her name because it disgusts him, and he's ashamed of how he treated Evelin. In the now-deleted post, Corey said that he never had for feelings for Jenny, and being with her was his "biggest mistake ever." Popular 90 Day Fiancé meme account @morebiggy took a screenshot of his caption before it was deleted and posted it on their own Instagram page, slamming him for being "disgusting and misogynistic." The fan account pointed out that Corey dated Jenny for more than two months, lied to her that he was married and yet is now claiming hat he never had feelings for her and finds her name disgusting. The account accompanied the screenshot with the caption, "Corey might be worse than Evelin."
However, most of the fans in the comments section purported that Evelin had actually written Corey's since-deleted Instagram caption. "Corey wrote this...riggghhttt. With Evelin standing over his shoulder," one commenter wrote. Other commenters wrote that Evelin and Corey "deserve each other." Another comment said that Corey is "worse" than Evelin because "Evelin never hid who she was. Corey acts like a dope to get away with his BS." Corey has since posted an apology on Instagram for his caption, asking fans to "pardon" him for his "bad attitude."
No matter what is next in store for Corey and Evelin, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans should not expect these two to step out of the spotlight anytime soon. Fake storyline or not, a secret marriage and affairs with other people make this couple by far one of the most interesting of the season.
