Jorge and Anfisa became one of 90 Day Fiancé's most notorious couples because of their dysfunctional relationship. Anfisa was verbally abusive to Jorge, even telling him outright she was only marrying him for his money, while Jorge was desperate and secretive, using whatever methods he could to keep the relationship afloat — including hiding his criminal past.
Despite all this, u/valkyriejones is of the opinion that the two really are soulmates. Honestly, they both seem a lot happier apart.
Avery Was The Worst Person At The Season 4 Tell-All
The 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season four tell-all was fraught with drama, but there was one clear winner in terms of controversy: Angela, whose hypocrisy, violence, and unwillingness to acknowledge her mistakes only worsened her less-than-stellar reputation.
But there are dissenters: u/ShyBear17 argues that though "[Angela] is terrible and we all know this", Avery Mills was worse for "constantly getting her nose in people's business" and "[making] everything about her." The user later clarified that Avery only "annoyed [them] more" because Angela's behavior "was so expected", but does being expected really make it any better?
Pao Gets Too Much Hate
Despite her relationship with Russ actually being one of the healthier ones depicted on the show, Paola Mayfield has been called out repeatedly for being rude and controlling. She's not without her allies, however.

Laura And Aladin Are Both Liars
Laura and Aladin are another controversial couple, and as with most of 90 Day Fiancé's stars, there's something of a line drawn in the sand where fans have to pick a side.
u/redmahkupbag skipped that process, however, instead deciding that, considering all the lies they've told each other, neither is innocent: they're "both liars and are just trying to destroy each other."
Leida Is Understandable
Leida and Eric have had their fair share of drama both onscreen and off. For starters, Leida was unflinchingly arrogant in her interactions with Eric's children, to the point that everyone around her was asking her to lighten up. Still, even acknowledging they'll "probably get roasted for this", u/CHOCCOOOLLLAAATTE "[doesn't] think [Leida's] that bad" just because of that series of incidents, arguing that Eric was insensitive and placed both her and his family in a situation where they would be uncomfortable.

Andrei Doesn't Deserve Elizabeth
Andrei and Elizabeth have actually had a fairly smooth relationship, comparatively speaking, although that might not be saying a lot when considering the stories and couples so far. The main drama surrounding them was Andrei getting into a confrontation with Libby's family, one that fans of the series immediately began to take sides on. The prevailing thought became that Libby dropped the ball on that one, and Andrei's actions were justified.
However, u/Harelip129 saw things slightly differently, arguing that Andrei is "abusive, lazy, gross, and narcissistic" and "doesn't deserve the perks" of marrying Libby. They also opine that Elizabeth's brother Charlie spoke the truth in his drunken wedding speech, and "if [they were] a sibling, [they] wouldn't even have gone."
Colt Isn't "Creepy"
Colt and Larissa were definitely an odd couple, and their split during season 5 made sense because they just weren't right for each other. Most of the general criticisms leveled against Colt during that season (before he became embroiled in much more controversial situations) were for his strange relationship with his mother, or his stingy and often comical precaution.

Kalani Is Just As Toxic As Asuelu
Asuelu and Kalani have had a difficult time on the show, as their emotions often got the better of them and kept them from being able to communicate efficiently. But no question about it, Asuelu was definitely out of line with some of the comments he made to Kalani during their relationship.

Ed Isn't That Bad
Ed is one of the strangest characters to ever find his way onto reality television, and he's been criticized for both small offenses like styling his hair with mayo and big offenses like constantly belittling his girlfriend Rose.
But u/the_real_bp argued that he's not all that bad because at least he can … laugh at himself? This opinion was so strange that it had repliers questioning if the poster was Ed himself.
Fake Stories Are Ruining The Show
90 Day Fiancé might not be completely fake, but it's clear that some situations are staged to create drama and get the ratings up.
This isn't really a problem to most of the show's viewers — what more can anyone expect from reality television? — but it seems to have gotten Reddit user u/King_Heric particularly perturbed, as they believe the series will suffer for its indiscretions.
