If the rumors of Colt Johnson getting down on one knee to propose to Vanessa Guerra are true, 90 Day Fiancé’s Debbie may have finally found a daughter-in-law she loves. Since starting off with season 6, Colt’s mother dearest has been at odds with both his ex-wife Larissa Lima and ex-girlfriend Jess Caroline. However, during 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? fans saw how Debbie even trusted Vanessa to look after her precious cats! But what is it that makes 90 Day Fiancé’s Colt’s new woman Vanessa, Debbie’s favorite?
TLC fans first heard about Vanessa after Colt returned for his second sting for reality TV romance with 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? His latest Brazilian girlfriend Jess Caroline complained about a Vanessa to her girl-gang while they roasted Colt. “Jess has never met Vanessa but she thinks I'm having an affair with her,” Colt had told the cameras then, although he’d allegedly lied to his girlfriend about her being a gym friend. Predictably, Vanessa remained a constant topic of fights between the 90 Day Fiancé couple, as Colt hinted at having slept with the woman while keeping Jess in the dark. “Vanessa talk. You still friends,” Jess had screamed during her famous shoe-flinging scene as she’d discovered her being in Colt’s house while he was in Brazil. And soon enough, Jess broke up with Colt due to him texting NSFW pics to random women, but mainly because of Vanessa now being his roommate. However, while Debbie had always had issues with Colt’s other girlfriends, how did she allow Vanessa to stay in his room, and even get engaged to her 90 Day Fiancé star son?
It’s all because Vanessa seems to be an even bigger bestie of Debbie. Colt’s two special ladies seem to be quite close on social media, often spotted commenting on each other’s posts. It was also Debbie’s idea to make sure Jess knew about Vanessa catsitting for her during the Brazil trip, and also about her being their new roomie. However, some 90 Day Fiancé fans think that Debbie may have been a fan of Vanessa only because she already is an American citizen unlike her son’s other Brazilian lovers who she thought were tricking him. Vanessa, therefore not being green card hungry may be working in her favor when it comes to impressing her friend and future mother-in-law.
But then again, like this Reddit thread discusses, many 90 Day Fiancé viewers are wondering if Debbie will start hating Vanessa too now that her son and she “are an item.” A fan writes, “I think Debbie will be jealous of every girlfriend Colt has,” and a reply to it observes, “But Debbie’s always his #1 girl.” But another fan also notes that Debbie and Vanessa may have been close as they were “ripping on Jess.” But with Jess now out of the picture, and Colt being engaged to Vanessa, Debbie might hate being the third wheel again. The 90 Day Fiancé viewer also thinks that perhaps Vanessa will finally be the perfect partner for whom Colt may put his foot down, “not only cutting the umbilical cord but also setting it on fire.” This, then, may lead to Debbie blaming Vanessa for Colt’s betrayal.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least for now, as Vanessa and Debbie were recently spotted enjoying a girls' night out in Vegas. The rumors of Colt and Vanessa filming their own 90 Day Fiancé spinoff have been at an all-time high since a photograph showed their supposed “proposal” being filmed. And knowing that wherever Colt and Debbie go, the drama follows, perhaps it will be Vanessa’s turn this time around, to finally face the music.
