Fans are reacting to 90 Day Fiancé alum Colt Johnson’s shocking makeover on Instagram—and their response has not been positive. Las Vegas resident Colt gained popularity after featuring on 90 Day Fiancé season 5 with now ex-wife Larissa Lima. Colt’s whirlwind romance with Larissa was filled with abuse and arrests before they divorced less than a year after getting married. Colt moved on with another Brazilian woman, Jess Caroline, on his next spin-off, only for her to split with him in the finale due to his cheating. Thankfully, Colt got lucky when he married his best friend Vanessa Guerra, who he’d cheated on Jess with.
Colt had a tough time convincing Vanessa to marry him, but the couple eloped, as revealed in 90 Day: The Single Life. While Vanessa was Colt’s mom Debbie Johnson’s favorite, Debbie became the reason for Colt and Vanessa eventually separating. The couple announced their split during The Single Life season 2, which focused on Debbie’s dating life. Vanessa, who was staying with Colt and Debbie, moved out because of his mother creating a rift in their relationship, and also by reacting oddly to Vanessa’s miscarriage. In their latest franchise appearance on 90 Day Diaries, Colt and Vanessa are back together but still staying in different houses.
Just like Colt’s relationships, his many looks have also created controversies. When Colt and Vanessa married in February 2021, he was already sporting long hair and growing out his beard. But during 90 Day Diaries, fans noticed that Colt’s beard had now turned into an unruly mop and his hair was messier and longer. Instagram page @90dayfiancegossipss did a “Crazy Transformation” video about him in which they added before and after photos of Colt. The photos showed Colt from his first TLC appearance, clean-shaven and a little heavier, compared to current-day Colt , who now is much slimmer. Fans seem to appreciate his physique, but it’s mostly Colt's facial hair that's making them uncomfortable.
One 90 Day Fiancé fan called Colt the GEICO Caveman. Another asked Colt to trim his beard and get a haircut. TLC viewers think that, while makeovers are always welcome, Colt looks like he’s “devolved” and not transformed for the better. “He didn’t start very high on the evolution chart to begin with,” added the commentator. They suggested Colt doing away with all the hair will make him look much better and younger. Some 90 Day Fiancé fans think that Colt’s hair is okay, but he should wash it daily for a cleaner look. A fan called Colt’s new look a “glow down,” since his makeover is going in reverse.
Colt started working on his weight loss journey with great enthusiasm when he was still with Jess. Over time, Colt has shown great results after going to the gym and eating the right diet. Why 90 Day Fiancé celeb Colt is not paying the same kind of attention to other aspects of his appearance cannot be deciphered. However, things seem to be improving between Colt and Vanessa, which is a positive sign, because his make-under might just have been because Colt was neglecting himself while he and Vanessa dealt with marriage troubles.
