It seems like 90 Day Fiancé star Colt Johnson wants to have a happily married life with his wife Vanessa Guerra, which may be why he seemingly wants his mother, Debbie Johnson, out of his life. The Las Vegas native has seen plenty of his former relationships end due to his mother's interference in his life. Many fans regard Debbie as one of the worst mothers-in-law of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Viewers think she is too attached to her son and doesn't let him be a responsible man. Debbie has played a major role in Colt's breakup with Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Jess Caroline, all in the name of saving her son from being tricked.

Alas, things have changed in the latest season of 90 Day: The Single Life. Colt broke his 69-year-old mother's heart when he brought up the subject of living separately. He told his mother that when she invited a "gentleman" in, it forced him and Vanessa to leave their home for privacy reasons. Debbie explained how she thought of moving out but took her time as she didn't want to rent an unaffordable apartment. Without much thought, Colt told Debbie that they were moving out of the house in three months. When 36-year-old Colt told Debbie that he loved her, she got frustrated and left that particular conversation in between.

Colt's decision shook Debbie, who said: "Rotten bas**rd. Sneaky about getting married and doesn't tell me, and then he's hiding the fact that he wants me to move out." Colt loves Debbie, but he also loves Vanessa and wants to grow his family. It's plausible that he doesn't want Debbie to instigate drama with his wife, just like she did with Larissa and Jess. He may be scared, as Debbie has previously exposed things he was trying to hide from Jess, which led to their messy breakup. Overall, Debbie has a habit of controlling her son, but he is finally learning to act on his own accord. This change in Colt's behavior is new to Debbie, but she will soon understand that her son still loves her.

From Vanessa's perspective, she would want to have privacy from Debbie, who can be an overbearing mother at times. From Colt's perspective, he must think that he's 36, and Vanessa is probably his last chance to have a happily married life. The newly married couple needs some romantic time alone, and Colt and Vanessa can not have it with Debbie around them. Colt could also be thinking about his past divorce, which happened when Larissa wanted to live away from Debbie and he failed to make that happen. Larissa has also expressed on the show that her mother-in-law was the major reason for her divorce from Colt.

Debbie previously mentioned that she went "through sh** with" Colt, and now he wants to kick her out on the streets. It is understandable why the 69-year-old mother feels sad and angry, despite Colt telling her he loves her. However, Debbie also needs to understand that it's time for her son to grow up and build his family. As much as Colt wants Debbie to move out, one thing is for certain: he won't abandon her. 90 Day Fiancé fans think that Debbie is overreacting about Colt wanting to live independently.
