Steven Johnston became a quick franchise villain when he appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3. The Mormon man expected his partner Alina to convert to Mormonism, which involved her remaining a virgin until marriage and giving up alcohol and caffeine. However, Steven revealed to Alina that he had slept with a number of women, including while talking to Alina, and had made out with close to 100 ladies. Viewers were furious that Steven could pick and choose from his religion while expecting Alina to follow all the rules.
Ben Rathbun
Ben Rathbun is another religious 90 Day Fiancé franchise cast member who twisted his faith to suit his needs. Ben pursued significantly younger woman Mahogany Roca on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5. He kept insisting it was “God’s plan” to have him essentially stalk someone his daughter’s age. Franchise fans were furious that Ben kept using his faith to justify his attraction to someone so much younger than himself. Fans were even more distressed to learn that manipulative and creepy Ben was a former youth pastor.
Mohamed Abdelhamed
Mohamed Abdelhamed is the latest 90 Day Fiancé cast member to anger viewers. The Muslim man is currently dating Yvette Arellano on 90 Day Fiancé season 9. Mohamed is perfectly fine with having premarital sex with 90 Day Fiancé newcomer Yvette, though he is asking her to change her life to be in accordance with Islam even though she does not follow the religion. Mohamed expects Yvette to change the way she dresses and forbids her from being alone in a room with another man. Many 90 Day Fiancé fans are furious over how controlling and out-of-line Mohamed appears to be.
