Controversy and judgment is nothing new for 90 Day Fiancé cast members, but many of them feed into what fans don’t like about them and make things worse. These stars have been blowing up their reputations, and they would do well to keep a low profile in the next year.
There are a lot of 90 Day Fiancé cast members who fans can’t stand, and many of those stars can’t expect to do much to change viewers’ minds. However, there are others who still have a ray of hope to redeem themselves, or at least minimize the criticism.
These stars have spent the past year turning fans against them, and for various reasons they’re getting slammed by viewers more and more. But all of them could potentially turn perception of them around. If they lay low for a year, there’s a chance fans’ opinion of them will cool off.
Varya Malina
After her season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Varya hid her relationship with Geoffrey Paschel for a long time, and she should have stuck with that instinct. After Geoffrey was convicted of assault charges, Varya revealed that she is still engaged to him and supports him 100 percent. Varya has become Geoffrey’s biggest advocate, and fans are baffled that she believes his version of the story. Even if Varya remains adamant about supporting Geoffrey, she at least shouldn’t be so vocal about it, and she should definitely stay off social media.
Yara Zaya & Jovi Dufren
Jovi and Yara built up a lot of goodwill during their time in the franchise, and they turned out to be one of the more tolerable couples on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? However, their off-screen behavior lately has been driving fans away. Yara’s recently-launched makeup line Boujee has been called out for quality issues, plagiarism, and false claims, and Yara is furious. She and Jovi began attacking their critics on social media, and Jovi sent individual commenters “cease and desist” messages that were definitely not legally legitimate. The couple should consider keeping a low profile next year so the criticism about them won’t escalate.
Russ & Paola Mayfield
Pao and Russ aren’t exactly fan favorites, so their separation earlier this year wasn’t met with much shock. But recently, the couple shared a Christmas post on social media revealing they have decided to reconcile. Some fans suspect their break may have been a publicity stunt, because Paola especially loves being talked about. If the couple really is back together, they should spend time with each other and work on their relationship, away from the public.
Nicole Nafziger
In the past, Nicole hasn’t generally been very active on social media, but this year she got into clickbait in a big way. Nicole regularly shares posts on Instagram that hint at SHOCKING news that ends up leading to a completely mundane story. She’s gotten a lot of backlash for these misleading posts, particularly when she used Jason Hitch’s recent death as the subject of her clickbait. Her infuriating posts are probably a decent source of income for Nicole, but she should cut it out in 2022 if she wants any chance at salvaging her reputation.
Juliana Custodio
There have always been a lot of doubts surrounding Juliana, and many fans suspected she was a sugar baby who was using her ex-husband Michael Jessen for his money. But after a couple years, viewers started to think she may be the real deal. However, recently the couple broke up, and Juliana quickly moved on to a new man and is now pregnant. Obviously, a lot of fans think she was cheating on Michael and using him. If Juliana really is happy with her life now, she should enjoy it away from social media, because there’s likely to be further backlash from fans about her breakup.
Angela Deem
Angela really started to grate on viewers this year on Happily Ever After? and she’s gotten criticism for how wild she acts on social media. There have been rumors lately that she intends to break up with her husband Michael Ilesanmi so she can land her own spin-off in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. However, fans are already eager to turn their backs on her and any Angela spin-off will likely be met with intense disinterest. If Angela doesn’t want to burn up what little goodwill she has left, she should take a step back from the franchise.
Paul & Karine Staehle
Karine and Paul are already one of the least liked couples in the franchise, but recently they stepped up their shocking behavior. A video has surfaced showing Karine getting physically abusive with Paul, and now the two have started airing their dirty laundry on social media. There are clearly a lot of issues in their relationship and many fans think they should separate immediately for the sake of their children. Paul and Karine aren’t doing themselves any favors by working through their problems so publicly, and they should retreat from the franchise and Instagram next year and decide if their marriage is worth salvaging.
Tom Brooks
Tom has always been more of a peripheral cast member in the franchise, and fans believe that he and his girlfriend Mariah are trying to milk his association with 90 Day Fiancé. They’re regularly dragged by fans online, but any criticism they get is harshly received. When commenters call out their obviously photoshopped pictures or Mariah’s makeup-free selfies with her in loads of makeup, Tom and Mariah escalate the situation with inflammatory remarks and insults. Next year, they should try to limit their interactions with fans and not add fuel to the fire.
These 90 Day Fiancé stars have tarnished their reputations, but if they’re careful and keep away from the franchise and social media, they could change fans’ opinions of them. Or, at the very least, viewers will forget about them enough to move on and find other cast members to criticize.
