The cast members of the 90 Day Fiancé universe are no stranger to being catfished, played, or worse. They have endured humiliating moments, relationships that go nowhere, and even marriages that simply were not working, while other cast members would have put their foot down and walked away as Molly Perkins did with Luiz. Alas, some were simply too in love or naïve to face the reality that their significant other was either not into them or were a catfish.

David, for example, went to Ukraine multiple times to try to meet his internet girlfriend Lana. For some reason, however, she either gave him the wrong address or found herself to be busy, and he would find himself on a plane back to America. Love can be blinding, but certain stars of 90 Day Fiancé seem like they let themselves be led by a love that will end in disaster. With all the red flags that were in front of them, these are the cast members who simply could not face the truth.

David Murphey

David Murphey on 90 Day Fiance

This might be the most remarkable case of an online relationship gone wrong in the history of 90 Day Fiancé. David Murphey had been in a relationship with Lana for the better part of a decade, and whenever he wanted to talk to her, he had to pay. The viewers were confused, as it meant that David was simply a client and not her boyfriend like David thought. For the entirety of the season, the fans were positive that Lana was a catfish, as she and David never had a video call, and never spoke outside of a dating platform.

Nonetheless, David flew to Ukraine multiple times to try to meet Lana, and every time he went, she ended up having a sudden preoccupation. The fans were certain after David’s last trip that he would end the relationship, but in a surprising twist, Lana finally decided to meet David. Lana turned out to be a real person after all, but that didn't change the fact that she was showing some major red flags. They are together now, and David plans on moving to Ukraine to be with her.

Caesar Mack

90 Day Bares All Caesar Mack

All Caesar Mack wanted was love, but he was looking for it in the wrong place. He met Maria on a pay-to-date platform, and during their relationship, he claimed to have sent her over $40,000. Viewers did not think that Maria was even real, but Caesar was convinced that she was. He then planned a trip to Mexico to meet her, which she did not go on. Despite this roadblock, Caesar still believed that Maria loved him.

When the Tell-All special rolled around, the fans were sure that it'd be revealed that Maria was not a real person. It turned out that she was a real person, but all she wanted from Caesar was his money, not his love. Following their breakup, Caesar admitted that he still sent her money on occasion. With that said, it took a while for Caesar to realize that Maria was not into him and decide to move on. So, who knows? There's a chance that fans might see him again on the next season of 90 Day: The Single Life.

Jenny Slatten

Jenny Slatten from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way

Right now, Jenny Slatten and Sumit seem to be happy, but the beginning of their relationship had too many signs that Jenny ignored. These signs should have signaled that their love story would not be easy in the long term. When Jenny first started talking to Sumit, he used a completely different picture to talk to her, which is essentially catfishing. This should have been Jenny’s first dose of reality and her cue to cut ties, but they continued talking. Jenny then moved to India to be with Sumit, but little did she know that another surprise was awaiting her there.

Turns out, Jenny discovered that Sumit was married. This did not sit well with her, and even though she returned to America for a while, she ultimately moved back to India to be with him. The reality of Sumit’s situation should have been enough to end the relationship, but it only made Jenny hold onto their relationship. To make matters worse, Sumit’s divorce was tricky, long, and expensive. There were also many parties involved, as divorces as seen as taboo in India. However, it all seems to have been worth it given that Sumit and Jenny are currently very happy together.

Danielle Jbali

90 Day: The Single Life season 1 star Danielle Jbali at the Tell All

Danielle Jbali was madly in love with her husband Mohamed. The couple had met online, and Danielle fell for her Tunisian husband very quickly. However, once Mohamed arrived in the United States, everything changed. They did not seem to be getting along, and they fought constantly. After their marriage, it was apparent that the two would not last, but Danielle wanted to hold on to Mohamed even though he told her multiple times that he did not want to be married to her anymore.

During the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After spin-off, Danielle still wanted Mohamed back, even though he had moved away to a new city by this time and was already dating around. Things finally seemed to cool between them and Danielle reconciled with their divorce, but when she appeared on 90 Day: The Single Life, she admitted that she still loved Mohamed. Now, it seems that Danielle has moved on from her past relationship, as she is also dating and hoping to find the one.

Yolanda Leak

90 Day Fiancé star Yolanda Leak

Yolanda Leak’s catfish storyline was probably one of the most memorable of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. The Nevada resident met her boyfriend Williams on Instagram, and they immediately hit it off. Yolanda was gearing up to fly to England to meet up, but that was when things started to get weird. When she asked him which airport she should land in, he stopped responding and started to reply less and less. Yolanda’s children told her that it was probably a catfish, but she did not want to believe them. However, all the signs of a catfish were there: the person never did video calls, and his accent was questionable.

Things took a turn when Yolanda’s kids decided to do a reverse search of Williams and found out that his pictures were stock images. However, Yolanda was still not convinced. Even when she received an email threatening her with blackmail, which included sexual photos she had sent Williams, she did not believe it was a scam. It wasn't until they searched his phone number - and found out that it was a Nigerian number - that she began to realize that she was talking to a scam artist. It may have taken Yolanda a while to come to reality, but at least she finally did, and she has even opened a boutique store now.
