The 90 Day Fiancé franchise has launched reality TV careers but has also introduced many cast members to the downfalls of fame, including bullying. Over the years, many franchise villains have emerged and been called out by viewers for their bad behavior. Audiences have also turned on cast members for other reasons. Negative audience perceptions have led a number of franchise cast members to claim that they have been bullied by fans.
In certain instances, it appears that fans are not bullying cast members. Instead, they are asking them to be held accountable for their bad behavior. In some cases, this involves messaging cast members’ sponsors, commenting on social media, or creating discussion threads on Reddit. Certain cast members have been unable to receive any form of criticism, which causes them to blast even the most constructive feedback as hate and jealousy. Others, such as the chaotic Potthast family, seem to play victim roles, perhaps to deflect from negative feedback about their own antics.
However, there are other situations in which bullying is clearly occurring. Cast members have seen their children attacked. Some have been dragged for the way that they look, rather than their attitudes. Additionally, name-calling can reach extreme levels, and some cast members have even received death threats from disgruntled viewers. A lot of cast members have accused franchise fans of bullying them. In these cases, it's very easy to understand why the treatment that they receive from franchise viewers is so hurtful to them.
Larissa Lima
Larissa Lima is one of the fieriest cast members to have appeared in the franchise. Though the Brazilian bombshell has started many feuds with her fellow cast members, Larissa has also called out franchise fans for repeatedly harassing her. Larissa publicly poured tens of thousands of dollars into her appearance. However, many fans have criticized Larissa’s extreme plastic surgery transformation. Additionally, Larissa has been repeatedly called a bad mother for not reuniting with her two children yet. Others have called the former franchise star out for her risqué content. There has been a steady stream of criticism for Larissa to deal with.
Big Ed Brown
Big Ed Brown is a notorious franchise villain who has rightfully had his bad behavior towards women called out. Plenty of viewers wanted to cancel the older American after a phone call of him screaming at his ex was released. This followed several seasons of him being rude to women. However, Big Ed has also been the victim of uncalled-for bullying over his appearance. Big Ed has a medical condition called Klippel-Feil-Syndrome which affects the appearance of his neck. Many viewers have mocked his looks, and this mockery is an outright display of bullying behavior. While calling out Big Ed’s bad behavior is justified by many, insulting his appearance is not ok.
Loren Brovarnik
Loren Brovarnik is another cast member who has been called out for valid and completely out-of-line reasons. The wife of Alexei Brovarnik has been dragged for her mean girl attitude, but other fans like her. She is a polarizing figure among franchise fans. Unfortunately, Loren and Alexei have also received extremely inappropriate comments regarding their children. After sharing a recent photo of her young son, Loren opened up about the insults she received over her son’s appearance. Some fans speculated over whether or not he had a medical condition. Though it's appropriate for Loren’s occasionally bad attitude to be discussed among fans, many believe that attacking the appearance of a baby is vulgar behavior that is truly a new low.
Leida Margaretha
Leida Margaretha established herself as one of the biggest villains in the entire franchise after she kicked her husband Eric Rosenbrook’s teenage daughter out and obtained a restraining order against the young teen. However, Leida has revealed that the hate she received from franchise fans reached extreme proportions that can’t be justified. Leida and Eric have opened up about receiving harassment and death threats from franchise fans. Though Leida is perceived as a compulsive liar, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that audiences took things too far, given the fact that other reality TV stars and public figures have received death threats as well.
Jess Caroline
Jess Caroline is another cast member who has been vocal about the inappropriate bullying she has received. The Brazilian beauty is confident in her body and enjoys showing off her enviable curves. However, Jess has been repeatedly body-shamed by critics. The newlywed reached her breaking point when her beach body was attacked in honeymoon photos that she shared on social media. Jess eloquently addressed her critics and asked for permission to exist in her own body without being told what she should wear or how she should look. Many franchise fans applauded Jess for her well-worded statement.
Evelin Villegas
Evelin Villegas is one cast member who has allegedly seen her income suffer from the bullying she has received. Many viewers called Evelin out for her bad attitude. However, fans seemingly took things way too far when they went on a smear campaign against Evelin’s image. Evelin has opened up about being attacked by viewers online, which has ultimately damaged her business image. Evelin and her partner Corey Rathgeber have seen their business social media accounts bombarded with hate for Evelin, which in turn affects their family bar business.
Deavan Clegg
Deavan Clegg is yet another 90 Day Fiancé franchise female who has accused audiences of bullying her. However, many viewers believe that the criticism of Deavan is fully justified. The mother of two has blasted her estranged husband Jihoon Lee on social media and replaced him with her boyfriend Topher Park. She's positioned Topher as a father figure to her and Jihoon’s son. Deavan has also been accused of lying repeatedly and has presented heavily edited images of herself. In turn, fans have called her out for her general drama, what they believe is her smear campaign against Jihoon, and her alleged dishonesty. Deavan has claimed that she is being attacked by critics, though many viewers maintain that she enjoys playing the victim.
