The 90 Day Fiancé franchise follows star-crossed lovers as they endure their relationships overseas, but some co-stars were too good for their other half. After being on the air for almost 10 years, viewers are more aware than ever that not all relationships are perfect and not all partners are ready for a commitment. While some co-stars appeared to learn from their mistakes and settle into marriage, other couples weren’t as lucky.

Some 90 Day Fiancé stars, like Alexei and Loren Brovarnik, weren’t always on the same page. Their relationship was more physical at first, but as they spent more time together, they fell in love. However, their lack of communication and inability to compromise was a major source of tension in their earlier years. Nonetheless, the two are about to be a family of five with their own spin-off. Paola and Russ Mayfield are another couple who have struggled to learn from their mistakes and thrive as a twosome.

Once Paola moved to the U.S., she realized Russ’s hometown in Oklahoma wasn’t what she expected or was accustomed to. The two faced many challenges, including living with Russ’s parents, 90 Day Fiancé's Paola moving to pursue her career goals without her husband, and having a baby early in their marriage. Divorce has been discussed quite a few times, and they’ve even separated, but the two are still working together to turn their relationship around. However, not all couples have exhibited the same devotion to their counterparts.

Kobe Blaise

Kobe Blaise and his son Koban 90 Day Fiance Season 9

Kobe Blaise and Emily Bieberly have struggled to see eye-to-eye during their time on screen. Although Kobe has revealed a bit of his aggressive side when he told Emily to “shut the f**k up,” Emily has had a difficult time letting go of her parenting reins. When Kobe first arrived, Emily scrutinized his every move and scolded him for intervening with her parenting methods. Then, before confirming with Kobe, 90 Day Fiancé's Emily bought herself an engagement ring even though the couple was struggling financially. While Kobe appears to be willing to do what he needs to do to keep his family together, Emily appears to be out only for herself.

Amira Lollysa

Amira Lollysa looks upset in "Unsure and Insecure"

Amira Lollysa appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 with Andrew Kenton, but she never made it to America. Amira shared her heartbreaking story as COVID-19 took over just as she was supposed to leave for the U.S. Andrew was less than concerned and had her fly to Mexico, where she was detained and sent back to France. Andrew continued his vacation solo in Mexico and planned a second trip for Amira, despite her being uncomfortable and protesting. She faced riots, isolation, and the potential of contracting COVID-19 during her stay in Serbia, only for 90 Day Fiancé's Andrew to send Amira a ticket back to France after they had another argument about children.

Michael Ilesanmi

Michael Ilesami Angela Deem Wedding In 90 Day Fiance 2

Michael Ilesanmi has been on the air with Angela Deem for four seasons. However, their relationship has increasingly worsened with each return. Although Angela has never hid her forceful personality from Michael or viewers, she’s been known to take situations too far. From smashing a cake in his face to being borderline verbally abusive, Angela has revealed an unpleasant side of herself. In their last season, she spent money on plastic surgery and weight-loss surgery instead of fertility treatments, all while attempting to track Michael’s phone in Nigeria and flirting with her doctor. 90 Day Fiancé's Angela's behavior has become so erratic that viewers have shared their preference for her removal from the show on more than one occasion.

Olga Koshimbetova

Olga Koshimbetova and Steven Frend from 90 Day Fiancé

Olga Koshimbetova and Steven Frend are one of the youngest franchise couples, but he used his immature 20-year-old mentality as an excuse to oppress his partner. While Olga was in labor, Steven displayed disturbingly callous behavior and even grew bitter about the time she spent with their son. Steven clearly lacked sympathy and offered her little to no support during the birth of their son and her early stages of motherhood. While giving birth in Russia was obviously a culture shock, Steven was ignorant of the turmoil his partner was facing.

Shaeeda Sween

90 Day Fiancé: Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween looking at house in disbelief

Shaeeda Sween prides herself on her flexibility on and off the yoga mat, but Bilal has surely put her to the test numerous times. 90 Day Fiancé's Bilal Hazziez’s condescending attitude, pranks, and inability to overcome his OCD have added additional layers of chaos to the couple. After Bilal tricked her into thinking they would live in his rundown childhood home, viewers could already see the vibrant red flags. However, their situation only continued to escalate, and viewers have urged Shaeeda to reconsider her relationship. Although they appear to have communication issues and can’t agree about future children, there are rumors the two are still together and currently married.

Erika Owens

Australian native Erika Owens met Stephanie Matto through her YouTube channel, and the two quickly hit it off. Although Stephanie admitted her social persona is much different from her true personality, Erika and viewers were unprepared for just how different the two were. Stephanie clearly struggled with the idea of opening up to a partner and didn’t even want to kiss Erika. 90 Day Fiancé's Erika appeared more than willing to be patient, but after Stephanie’s jealousy issues proved to be a fight not worth fighting, the two split. However, her willingness to take baths with potential partners and lose her celibacy in the following season added more confusion to the situation.

In the end, not all couples are meant to last forever. Sometimes partners are simply incompatible or their problems are too large to overcome. While viewers would prefer to see a storyline that proves love can conquer all, it doesn’t always work out that way. Although that’s a normal part of life and learning experience, these cast members deserve to be in a relationship that supports them, their needs, and goals, much like they do for their other halves. Whether these couples stay in their relationship or move on, 90 Day Fiancé fans are wishing them the best in their future endeavors.
