The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is known for providing a lot of fodder for evaluating relationships, but it's time to talk about the positive and negative platonic friendships that cropped up in the franchise. Since the show launched in 2014, cast members have formed bonds by connecting with fellow stars. However, many also rely on other friend groups for guidance on their journeys. There is plenty to learn about the best and worst cast member friends who've been showcased in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.

Navigating love on TV with an international partner can be very stressful. Luckily, many cast members have friends who have their backs. Some of the most supportive 90 Day Fiancé friends have been there for cast members when they were dealing with the drama of long-distance relationships, infidelity, public judgment, and other serious issues. However, good friends also know when brutal honesty is needed to help other people grow. The true friends haven't been afraid to call cast members out for past or potential mistakes.

Furthermore, audiences have accused some 90 Day Fiancé friends of clout chasing by trying to profit off of the fame of their cast member buddies. Find out which friends have been praised and which have been called out for their behavior.

Angela Deem (Best)

90 Day Fiancé Angela and Jojo taking a selfie

Angela Deem was controversial on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? However, the grandmother is fortunate to have the ultimate "ride or die" friend. With Angela's Nigerian husband Michael Ilesanmi being against her weight loss procedures, Angela turned to her friend JoJo for help with her recovery from surgery. JoJo took amazing care of Angela after the procedures. She even helped her clean her intimate parts. JoJo has always been a wonderful friend to Angela. She previously offered to be Angela’s witness at her wedding in Nigeria, when Angela’s own daughter refused to. JoJo continuously looks out for her friend. It appears that JoJo is more like a sister than a buddy at this point, and now-skinny Angela Deem is undeniably lucky to have a friend like her.

Jovi Dufren (Worst)

Jovi Dufren Yara Married Pic Ring In 90 Day Fiance

Jovi Dufren is one cast member who doesn’t have a friend group that makes him a better person. Jovi’s male friends encourage his strip club visits even though they damage his relationship with Yara Zaya. Not only do Jovi’s friends egg him on, but they reinforce negative stereotypes. Jovi’s friends (and initially, his family) were rude to Yara and accused her of using Jovi for a Green Card. Not only did Jovi’s friend group display culturally ignorant behavior, but his friend Sara meddled in Jovi and Yara’s relationship by spilling Jovi’s secrets. While some viewers thought Sara was looking out for Yara, many believed she was trying to split Jovi and Yara up, perhaps for selfish reasons. Overall, Jovi’s friends do not bring out the best in each other. Jovi's friends were not welcoming to Yara.

Molly Hopkins (Best)

90 Day Fiancé star Molly Hopkins and friend Cynthia Decker both wearing black

Molly Hopkins is extremely lucky to have a friend for life in Cynthia Decker. Cynthia and Molly are long-standing best friends and business partners. They first appeared on Double Divas, where they chronicled their business operations at Livi Rae Lingerie. Cynthia later encouraged Molly to appear on 90 Day Fiancé, which led to Molly becoming a franchise staple. The two women have been praised for their candid and humorous Pillow Talk commentary that fans connect with. Molly and Cynthia have balanced friendship with working together for many years and appear as close as ever. Molly has hinted at wanting to be on a show with Cynthia again. Meanwhile, Molly and Cynthia also work to empower other women with their inclusive Livi Rae message of self-love and comfort.

Danielle Jbali (Worst)

Danielle Jbali, 90 Day Fiancé

On the other hand, Danielle Jbali’s friends on 90 Day: The Single Life appear to be far from genuine and supportive. After Danielle’s disastrous divorce from Mohamed Jbali, she showed up on The Single Life ready to find love. Viewers were confused as to why the middle-aged woman was flanked by a trio of ladies in their 20s. Danielle appeared out of place in her friend group, as she is not only older than her friends but appears to be at a totally different place in life. Viewers have accused Danielle’s friend group of feigning interest in her life so they could exploit her due to her reality TV fame. Fans found the women to be disingenuous and blasted them for using Danielle for clout.

Ellie Rose (Best)

Ellie Rose 90 Day Fiancé in a purple top looking at the camera

Ellie Rose is currently exploring a complicated romance with Victor on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3. While viewers don’t have much faith in Victor, many have voiced that Ellie is fortunate to have a friend like Hiromi. Ellie’s friends kept it real when it comes to her relationship with Victor. Rather than blindly encouraging her, her friends offer much-needed logic. Ellie is ready to give up her whole life for Victor, but her friends are focused on ensuring that she is making the best choice for her happiness and future. Ellie has a wonderful friend group that truly wants to protect her and see her succeed. In particular, many viewers are applauding Hiromi. 90 Day Fiancé fans are currently rooting for Ellie to stay with her friends and leave cheating Victor behind.

Brandon Gibbs (Worst)

Julia and Melanie, 90 Day Fiancé

Brandon Gibbs doesn’t appear to have the most polite friend group. Like Jovi’s friends, Brandon’s pals have been accused of being rude to his partner. Julia Trubkina was memorably infuriated after dinner with Brandon’s friend Melanie and her boyfriend TJ on Happily Ever After. Julia expressed that she was extremely jealous of any woman giving her husband attention, which made it awkward when Brandon’s longtime friend Melanie grilled Julia about her relationship with Brandon. Melanie was labeled intrusive and rude for questioning Julia’s motivations and intentions with regard to Brandon. Julia later stormed out of her own apartment-warming party when Brandon’s friends told her she needed to wait to have kids, even though she was 27. Overall, Julia had negative experiences with Brandon’s friends, though her own attitude didn’t help much.

Chantel Jimeno (Best)

Chantel and Obed, The Family Chantel

Chantel Jimeno is another cast member who should consider herself lucky to have a loyal friend. Chantel's friend Obed Corporan kept it real with her even though he was also friends with her now-husband, Pedro Jimeno. Obed warned Chantel that he suspected her marriage to Pedro was set up by Pedro's family. Obed said this even though he was close to them. The move ultimately proved that Obed had Chantel’s back above all. However, Obed has been accused of betraying the Jimeno family. Meanwhile, Chantel also has a loyal group of female friends with whom she loves spending time. Chantel and her female posse have enjoyed numerous tropical travels over the past year, to celebrate momentous events such as Chantel turning 30 and one friend’s engagement. The Family Chantel star is fortunate to have so many close friends, even if 90 Day Fiancé fans have called Chantel out for partying during the COVID-19 pandemic.
