As 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days stars Alina and Caleb's time together in Turkey comes to an end, fans are praising his honesty regarding his feelings about her disability. The couple has experienced some serious ups and downs during their first in-person meeting after being online friends for more than a decade. Upon finally meeting face-to-face, Caleb came across as tentative but was open to exploring a relationship with Alina. For her part, Alina began pressuring Caleb into defining their relationship almost from day one. Even as she continually asked him where they stood, Caleb was reluctant to make any explicit statement until the very end of the trip.
Having conducted an online relationship since they were teenagers, Caleb and Alina (accompanied by her bestie Elijah) met up in Turkey to see if their attraction would manifest into a full-blown love affair or simply fizzle out. From the get-go, it became evident that Alina wanted to escalate their intimacy quickly and Caleb wanted to take it much slower. Alina was not impressed when, after traveling for the better part of two days, Caleb arrived at the hotel exhausted and unprepared to take their romance to the next level. Shortly into the trip, however, Alina shared with Elijah that they had indeed consummated their relationship.
This season's crop of couples has several of the women pressuring their partners for intimacy despite requests to move slower. While the women have been dragged for their tactics, Caleb is getting lots of support for his behavior and honesty, according to a Reddit thread by blonde_loser. Reddit user SonicFlash01 felt that Caleb had conducted himself well and wrote, "It's unfortunate that caring for Alina is a dealbreaker for him, but that's his prerogative and we can't judge him for a life choice. He was upfront about it and never lied. He expressed himself calmly and clearly." User YellowShorts agreed, saying, "He was in a very tough, very sensitive situation and I think he handled it well. I think he did truly go there to see if dating someone with a disability was something he could do."
Many more commenters on the thread felt that Caleb was right to admit that he was uncertain about his ability or desire to be Alina's caretaker. Alina didn't see it the same way and felt that if his love was strong enough, he would be willing to undertake the responsibilities. User Amazing-Fox-4297 summed up what a large sector of the commenters seemed to feel by noting, "Maybe you should love him enough to see that he is active and a free spirit and you are asking him to become a full time home health nurse."
To be sure, Caleb was in a tough situation from the onset, but he as honest about all of the challenges he experienced. Though it may be hard for her to see, he ultimately gave Alina the consideration and respect she deserves by recognizing that he's not up for everything that being her partner would require of him.
