Brittany Banks has yet to come clean to Yazan about her divorce on 90 Day Fiancé. As Yazan’s Jordanian family took serious offense at Brittany’s Instagram, her being married was a problem that took a back-seat. But while Brittany was battling the cultural clashes in Jordan, she'd herself forgotten about filing for divorce in Chicago. So, did the 90 Day Fiancé star finally get her freedom to marry Yazan in peace?
The Florida-native Brittany, 26, opened up about her ex during her introduction on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Brittany spoke about getting into the wrong relationship at 17 with the controlling man and later revealed that she’d married him five years ago. The TLC star was shown discussing her possibility of getting a divorce from the man who was deported to Haiti three months after their wedding. “I forgot I was married,” Brittany was seen telling her attorney who advised her that she should be coming clean to Yazan and his traditional Muslim parents. With Yazan’s family pushing for their marriage ASAP, Brittany had a major task at hand to get the divorce finalized within six to ten months. But Brittany not accepting their customs, and not converting to Islam in a way, helped her stall the subject of getting married to Yazan. The mid-season finale saw Brittany suddenly remember that she’d filed for divorce in her mother’s hometown Chicago after getting a mail regarding a court hearing. The 90 Day Fiancé star said bye-bye to Yazan by lying about attending her cousin’s wedding but promised to return. However, how successful was Brittany’s cover-up in this case?
Quite successful, if a story by Starcasm is to be believed. The report states that Brittany was granted a divorce on 11 February this year. The 90 Day Fiancé star had filed for a marriage license with ger ex on 24 March 2015, exactly two days before her birthday. The couple got married six days later in Florida on 30 March but the man was deported soon enough by ICE. Brittany’s ex-husband had had quite a few run-ins with the law for unlawful activities like possessing marijuana, tampering with evidence, and running away from police. In 2014, after pleading guilty to seven total charges, including three felonies, the 90 Day Fiancé star’s ex was detained by ICE and his deportation proceedings started. However, he still married Brittany who he was dating for three years, only for the marriage to meet its abrupt end in three months. As stated by Brittany, he wasn’t aware of not being a US citizen as he’d been living there since he was three.
“According to court records, Brittany filed for divorce in her home state of Illinois on September 9, 2019,” states the story. The motion for default judgment seems to have been allowed in February which indicates that Brittany was granted her divorce, however, the case was apparently assigned to the “post-decree calendar” as of June. This happens when a divorce is granted but the ex-husband files “a post-decree motion to enforce something in the divorce judgment,” adds the source. It’s not known what exactly has happened post this development in the 90 Day Fiancé celeb’s life, but her divorce possibly being granted does leave Brittany available to marry Yazan without the threat of bigamy.
However, looking at where Brittany and Yazan stand as per their social media activities, both seem to separated as of now. Brittany has gotten into quite a few feuds with her fiancé over numerous statements only to allegedly claim that her account was hacked soon after. Meanwhile, she’s been back to regular programming by posting content that Yazan’s mom would certainly disapprove, making fans wonder if they’ve broken up. Rumors of Brittany getting close to Lisa Hamme's ex-husband Usman "Sojaboy" Umar are also doing the rounds, but she's denied them promptly in a recent Cameo. Yazan too, has been fairly active on his Instagram showing off his brothers to his female followers. Brittany and Yazan’s complicated relationship has surely been a highlight on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, and it looks like they only have more drama to offer in the coming episodes.
