Although it's still early in this season of 90 Day Fiancé The Other Way, it's clear that Brittany Banks' web of lies has done her more harm than good. As long as she gets her way, it seems Brittany doesn't care who she hurts.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans are upset with Brittany for being so flippant about Jordan and its culture. The aspiring rapper is unaware of all the cultural adjustments that are going to be expected of her if she decides to go through with the marriage to fiancé Yazan. Usually, TLC fans are on the American's side, but Brittany is proving difficult to support. While no one is a fan of Yazan's temper, they also are not pleased with Brittany’s behavior. Brittany fell in love with the 24-year-old Jordanian mechanical engineer, but doesn't want to get behind Yazan’s Muslim culture and strict morals. Fans are not hopeful that this couple will survive the season. Beyond that, fans are extremely worried about Brittany's lack of self-awareness. The new reality star already upset her fiancé by ignoring his warnings about alcohol and clothing. Most recently, she disrespected Yazan’s family, causing a massive blowout. Worst of all, Yazan’s family is pressuring the American to get married while she is in their home country, but Brittany has a secret: she's still married to her ex.
The July 20 episode of the hit TLC show found Brittany in hot water. She just came off the explosive altercation with Yazan’s parents, which caused his mother to get in the Floridan’s face. Her future mother-in-law was upset that Brittany was not respecting her son and kept talking back to him aggressively. However, many viewers feel there would have been no argument if Brittany was truthful from the beginning instead of concealing the fact that she was still married.
In the premiere episode, Brittany dropped a bombshell only days before her trip to Jordan as she spoke with a lawyer about the current state of her marriage. She explained to cameras that she met her husband in 2015, but he was in the States on a visa. After they were married, he was soon deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement back to Haiti. The sugar baby revealed that she was in the process of filing for divorce, but it was taking longer than expected. Rather than telling Yazan the truth, Brittany chose to lie to her fiancé and his family, causing Yazan’s father to question why Brittany and Yazan could not get married right away. Brittany tried to play dumb by pretending not to understand the question, but fans saw right through her.
By purposely being deceitful, Brittany backed herself into a corner, causing frustration on all sides. If she told Yazan the truth, they could find a way to tell his family together. If that seemed too intimidating, the couple could find a way to keep the truth from his parents. By lying, however, Brittany forced herself to keep up appearances and tell even more lies to cover the initial untruth. She still has yet to tell Yazan that her divorce isn't finalized, and we don't imagine it will go well when she finally breaks the news
