90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has been filled with drama for newlyweds Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina, and fans are torn over their ongoing feud with Brandon’s parents. Betty and Ron established themselves as early franchise villains due to their smothering nature showcased on 90 Day Fiancé season 8. However, viewers also have turned on Julia due to her perceived bratty and immature attitude. Therefore, fans are torn over which side to take during the recent tensions between the two couples.

Betty has been notorious for ignoring the younger couple’s wishes in order to smother her son and get her way. Though Brandon and Julia insisted that they did not want Betty and Ron to throw them a second wedding celebration, the older couple gave them an unhappy surprise. Betty and Ron ignored their wishes and made half of Ron’s 70th birthday bash about the newlyweds, which prompted the younger couple to exit the party. While Betty viewed their move as deeply ungrateful, Brandon and Julia voiced that they finally want to find a place outside of the family farm. Betty and Ron then warned the couple that they wouldn’t help them make it on their own.

Instagram fan account @90dayfiancenews posted some images of the party and Brandon and Julia’s unhappy reaction and asked viewers to weigh in. “Team Brandon & Julia or team parents, Ron & Betty?  The parents incorporated a surprise wedding party into Ron’s 70th birthday party, which caused the newlyweds to leave. Was Betty over stepping their boundaries? Or just being nice?" the post's caption reads. Commenters were quick to express criticism for both sides. Some voiced that Brandon and Julia were very ungrateful and acted in a bratty manner. "Absolutely ungrateful! They need to be kicked out of the house and see how it really is!" one popular comment reads. Others believed that Brandon's choice to call out his parents came at an odd time given how he usually tolerates their intrusive behavior.

"I mean…of all the intrusive, boundary-less things Betty has done, Brandon picks a party and a cake to put his foot down? Didn’t say anything when his mom organized a family gyno appointment for his future wife to get birth control but the cake was too much," one fan weighed in. "Team Ron & Betty," another user voiced. "Just being nice trying to make Julia feel like part of the family. Julia needs to be glad she doesn't have a MIL like Trish," another fan commented. Others had more sympathy for Brandon and Julia in the situation. "They crossed a boundary... those parents were WRONG," one fan voiced. "Parents asked. Brandon and Julia said no. They did it anyways. It wasn’t about Brandon and Julia, it was about the parents," another person observed.

Viewer opinions show just how far Julia’s popularity has sunk in the franchise, as she previously had full fan support. Though the Russian dancer was a fan-favorite during season 8, many viewers believe her true colors of being bratty, immature, and judgmental have been revealed. When they aren’t busy feuding with Brandon’s parents, the young couple is experiencing even more tension due to Julia’s intense jealousy issues. Overall, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? viewers believe the young couple needs to get a place of their own where they can work through their issues away from Brandon’s overbearing parents.
