Julia Trubkina has been under fire from fans lately, but the season 6 premiere of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has shifted the fan criticism to her husband Brandon Gibbs. The season 8 90 Day Fiancé couple started the season with a trip to Las Vegas that saw Julia fall in love with Sin City. When the Russian dancer wanted to move, her husband told her to be realistic about their living situation. Though some fans have cited Brandon as having a mature response, others think that Julia’s husband is being unreasonable with his new wife.

Russian city girl Julia has historically not been happy with life on Brandon’s parents’ farm in Dinwiddie, Virginia. The dancer was recently criticized after she revealed that working and living on the farm was a choice. The 27-year-old had previously portrayed the situation as something she was forced into. However, some fans have sympathized with Julia wanting to move to Vegas since she already uprooted her entire life in Russia to join Brandon in the U.S. When Julia asked her husband to move to Vegas he jokingly told her that they were going to be looking at houses. However, he quickly revealed he was messing with her and that “This isn’t real life.” His response was not well-received by many viewers.

Brandon is known for his signature dark humor, but fans often don’t take kindly to his jokes. Some viewers took to Reddit to vent their frustration over his behavior. Though fans started out joking about Brandon's hyperbole over them "living in a cardboard box" due to their financial situation, others quickly discussed the 28-year-old's bad behavior. "I thought his 'joke' about having a house showing lined up was unbelievably cruel. The language barrier alone probably makes sarcasm hard to pick up on. What an a**," one person wrote. Many didn't think him joking about moving was fair to Julia. "Yes!" another commented wrote back. "Everything he said during this conversation was just mean. Obviously Julia can’t choose where she/you live at this point - there’s no need to be cruel."

Commenters agreed that Brandon's sarcasm did not go over well, especially with a non-native speaker. Some commented that they hadn't even picked up on his sarcasm until he revealed he wasn't being serious. "The choices are cardboard box or live with his mom indefinitely. That's what he just did... He controls the situation by controlling the options, then making the option he doesn't like sound worse than it is. Because a cardboard box is better than a controlling MIL," a frustrated commenter wrote. Angry viewers believe that Brandon's behavior towards Julia is problematic. "I hated him for saying this. He's a gaslighting a******," one person wrote while some else commented back that Brandon is passive-aggressive. Overall, fans appear to have shifted their anger from Julia back to her husband.

Many viewers don't think that Julia is being unreasonable for wanting to move to the city. Though Vegas might be out of the couple's budget, supporters of the dancer point out that she uprooted her life to be with Brandon. Therefore, it seems reasonable for the couple to compromise and leave farm life behind in favor of a city setting. Previews for the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? show that the couple is in for more trouble. Julia will be expressing jealousy over Brandon talking to other women, which will lead to more conflict for the young couple. Many fans are already burned out on their storyline, but viewers are looking forward to seeing more of fellow season 8 stars Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya with their baby girl Mylah.
