90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Brandon Gibbs has shared details of his dad Ron Gibbs’ illness that was disclosed during the Tell-All. When the discussion turned to Brandon and Julia Trubkina moving off of the farm, fans became worried after it was revealed that his father is sick. Dinwiddie resident Brandon made his debut on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 alongside parents Ron and Betty as they welcomed Julia into their farm. Julia’s relationship with her in-laws has always been rough. But her actions during part 1 of the reunion, especially the eye-rolling and insensitive remarks with regards to Ron’s ailment, were called out by fans.
Julia spent season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé cribbing about having to work with animals at the Hummingbird Acres Farm in Virginia, which the former go-go dancer didn’t sign up for. On HEA, Julia and Brandon finally moved out to get privacy in their married life, despite Ron and Betty’s emotional blackmailing, as observed by fans. However, during the Tel-All, Betty and Ron tried yet again to get the couple to come back to a home 15 minutes away, saying they were ready to pay the full down payment too. However, it seemed that it was due to Ron’s illness that he and Betty wanted Brandon to come back. Brandon looked distressed when this heartbreaking information was revealed on 90 Day Fiancé. But through welled-up eyes, he also refused to share details of Ron’s condition.
Fans grew concerned about Ron’s health issues, and some mocked 90 Day Fiancé star Julia for being cold-hearted towards her father-in-law. Meanwhile, Brandon has now taken to Instagram to show that there’s no bad blood between him, Julia or his parents while sharing happy photos of them from a Richmond Flying Squirrels game. “Thank you all for worrying about my dad,” Brandon wrote in his caption, before adding, “We appreciate it!” Brandon also assured his followers that Ron “is doing okay.” However, Brandon did mention, “He doesn’t want to talk about it and we will not either.”
Several 90 Day Fiancé fans rushed to the Instagram post's comments section to convey that they were glad to hear that Brandon’s dad is doing well. “We all need to cherish the time we have with our parents,” added a fan, and many others wished Ron a speedy recovery while also hoping that Julia becomes “more respectful” towards her new family in the future. Still, there are some fans who want to know why Betty brought up the conversation of Ron’s illness in the first place if they didn’t want to talk about it.
Betty wanting Brandon to live close by has always been blamed on her possessiveness. The reason behind Betty choosing to mention Ron’s health condition could have been her wanting to reveal the real reason why they never wanted Brandon to leave them in the first place. Meanwhile, it does seem likely that Brandon and Julia will be roped in for a new spin-off, even though their storyline on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has been called scripted and boring. Julia has also hinted at making “important decisions.” Surely, for Julia, moving back to the farm is like going back to square one.
