Now that 90 Day Fiancé season 8 has started, fans have noticed that Brandon Gibbs' mother Betty is a lot like Debbie Johnson. This is due to Betty's controlling nature.
Fans will recall that Debbie is the "stage five clinger mom" of Colt Johnson. Colt and Debbie lived together and partied together, and she even took some of his OnlyFan pictures. However, being so close to his mother had totally foreseen consequences when it came to his relationships. His marriage to 90 Day Fiancé's Larissa Dos Santos Lima (and his subsequent relationship with Jess Caroline) ended badly. The women claimed that Debbie was just too involved in their love lives.
Now, fans have noticed the same traits in Betty Gibbs. While the 90 Day Fiancé mom looks sweet enough, she obviously wears the overalls on the farm. She appears to like getting her own way. Brandon lives in Virginia and works as a pest control man. He hopes to take over the family business one day. Brandon Gibbs still lives with mom and dad at their farm. Fans quickly learned that his parents had no faith in him. They even signed him up for a dating website a few years back without telling him.
Fans started to compare Betty to Debbie after Betty mentioned putting her son's Russian girlfriend Julia on birth control. Brandon let it slip that he didn't use protection and his mother was not happy. On the way to the airport, she called her doctor to set up an appointment for Julia to be given birth control, without even discussing it with her son. Brandon sat in the back seat like a lost puppy, letting his mother make the decisions. Brandon also had to break it to his wife to be that they would not be sharing a bedroom. The reality star told cameras, "My mom can be a little controlling, always trying to tell me what to do."
To say that Brandon is very close with his parents would be an understatement. TLC fans are ready to watch Betty ruin her son's relationship just like Debbie ruined Colt's. Most women do not find self-proclaimed mama's boys attractive and wish that they would stand up for themselves. Viewers think that Brandon may have a problem with this since he is his mother's only son, and she has mastered the art of the guilt trip.
