Brandon Gibbs gets a lot of flack from 90 Day Fiancé fans, and his recently-surfaced terrible driving record isn’t helping things. Many fans have trashed Brandon for being unsupportive of Julia Trubkina, his wife, but now that they’ve seen his large amount of violations, fans are calling him “sketchy.” The show only portrays a small part of the stars’ lives, so Brandon’s hefty driving record gives a more complete look at what he’s like when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Though Brandon and Julia are on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, it has been mostly a continuation of their storyline from 90 Day Fiancé season eight. The couple still lives with Brandon’s parents, Ron and Betty, who are just as intrusive and meddlesome as they were last season. Brandon and Julia are married, but stuck in limbo as they wait for Julia’s green card approval. As the season progresses, fans are getting more and more tired of seeing Brandon and Julia.

Brandon has lived in Virginia all his life. During that time, he has racked up an impressive number of traffic violations. Between the years 2012 and 2019, Brandon accumulated 18 separate violations, though many of them he received in the same traffic stop, including seven offenses during one stop in November 2015 (via Dinwiddie General District Court). The violations include things like reckless driving, altered/forged license plates, no vehicle insurance, no vehicle registration, and failure to appear in court.

Fans have seen Brandon do shocking motorcycle stunts, but it seems that instinct for reckless behavior influences his normal driving as well. Fans have commented on how this piece of information helps explain some of the problems in Brandon and Julia’s lives. “No wonder he can’t move out, imagine the cost of his insurance,” a fan commented on Reddit. “This is a side of Brandon we don't see,” another added. Overall, fans got a “sketchy” vibe from Brandon’s driving history, though it doesn’t seem that they’re surprised.

However, many 90 Day Fiancé fans were concerned for Julia as well. There’s been speculation that Brandon and Julia have moved off the farm, so, when Julia gets her green card and is eligible for a driver’s license, it will be up to Brandon to teach her to drive in America. With his extensive history of violations, Brandon doesn’t seem like the best choice for an instructor. If Julia wants to be a more law-abiding driver than Brandon, she may want to seek out a different teacher.
