Biniyam Shibre moved 90 Day Fiancé fans to tears with his heartbreaking post about his first son Simon who was allegedly taken away by his ex-wife Bria. The Ethiopian man Biniyam won over fans with his personality when he first debuted on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2 alongside then-girlfriend Ariela Weinberg. Fans soon found out that Biniyam, an orphan himself, was abandoned by his first wife who’d gone back to America with their baby boy. Now that Ari too has flown back home for Avi’s surgery, Biniyam has been an emotional wreck.
If Biniyam felt threatened by Ariela’s ex-husband Leandro Fosque’s presence in their house, it was due to the fear of him luring his baby mama back to the US. It was nothing short of a déjà vu situation for Biniyam who’d been through a messy relationship with his American ex. While Biniyam and ex-wife Bria were happy in Ethiopia after their June 2016 marriage she had to return to New London, Iowa to welcome the baby between January and February of 2017. Simon was born with gastroschisis, and to witness his birth, Biniyam was allowed to visit the US on humanitarian parole. Later, Biniyam and Bria stayed together in Ethiopia for a while, but she left him after seeing him texting someone else. Now, the 90 Day Fiancé star is claiming that Bria took away their son, who he often talks about on social media.
During Biniyam’s latest social media update about the child, he wrote, “I can’t believe how much my son has grown.” Biniyam, who’s currently in America with Ariela confessed, “I miss him every single day.” The proud father added, “I can’t wait to give him a hug and a kiss.” Biniyam then wrote about how he can’t wait to hear Simon call him dad. “Please pray for me,” he typed. Biniyam wishes to reunite with his son someday soon and have him meet Avi. With Biniyam being in the same country as Simon and still not being able to meet him, fans want them to “heal and bond.”
Fans noted how much the little boy looks like Biniyam. One fan mentioned that their mom is starting “an organization for fathers' rights.” Biniyam replied, “that’s great. Maybe she can help me too.” Some TLC viewers were also confused by Biniyam’s post and thought that the little boy was Avi “No. My first son,” the "Dancey Dancey" singer explained. Another commenter wondered why Biniyam wasn’t able to do a Zoom call with his son, but he shared that his ex-wife doesn’t want it. He further clarified that the photos were also not sent to him by his former spouse. Instead, “someone else” shared them with him.
While Ariela had fleetingly mentioned that she was previously married on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, it was only during season 3 that fans really found out about her relationship with Leandro. If all goes well, perhaps a reunion between Biniyam and his firstborn can be expected in an upcoming season. At present, Biniyam doesn’t know when he’ll get to see him again. Recently, a video of Simon attending Bria’s second marriage and sharing a sweet moment with his stepfather was also shared by 90 Day Fiancé sleuths, further saddening Biniyam’s avid fans.
