TLC's 90 Day Fiancé regularly features spectacular drama that keeps viewers entertained, but some cast members are experts at stirring the pot and creating conflict. These drama-mongers often cross the line and garner intense criticism from fans, though it only seems to add fuel to their fire.

Controversial cast members in the franchise are a dime a dozen, although some of the show’s stars seem to live for the drama more than others. It’s not too surprising that many in the franchise’s cast are drawn to drama. After all, they agreed to go on a reality TV show. However, there are some who really go the extra mile.

Some cast members drum up drama with their attitude, the people they date, and overall questionable behavior. To be named a drama queen (or king) among a growing cast of attention-seekers is really saying something, and there are many who deserve such an honor.

Ariela Weinberg

Ariela Weinberg on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way

Ariela’s penchant for stirring up drama has been on full display in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3. So far, Ariela invited her ex-husband Leandro to stay with her and fiancé Biniyam Shibre, who was visibly uncomfortable with the arrangement. Little things like Ariela “forgetting” to wear her engagement ring just before her ex-husband’s arrival struck viewers as insensitive to the point of being intentional. A lot of the tensions between Ariela and Biniyam this season could have been easily avoided, but it seems Ariela enjoys causing trouble.

Elizabeth Potthast & Andrei Castravet

Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet from 90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After

As one of the franchise’s most dramatic couples, Andrei and Libby have gone through a lot of ups and downs, and have experienced some particularly volatile emotions when dealing with the rest of Libby’s family. The latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? featured some of the most explosive fights of the franchise, and many fans have suspected those scenes are staged, or at least heavily exaggerated. As much as they claim to want a peaceful family, Andrei, Libby, and the rest of the Potthast clan often put themselves in situations with a high potential for drama.

Andrew Kenton

Andrew was one of the stars of 90 Day Fiancé season 8. Though his ex-fiancée Amira Lollysa never even made it to the United States, the couple still had their fair share of drama. There was a lot of tension between the two that was exacerbated by Andrew’s schemes to get Amira to America. Many fans saw Andrew’s 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All behavior as the peak of his drama-mongering. Andrew positioned himself as the victim in his relationship and when Amira refused to speak to him at the Tell-All, he threw a tantrum and stormed off set.

Anfisa Arkhipchenko

When 90 Day Fiancé star Anfisa was still with ex-husband Jorge Nava, she always seemed to have the drama dial turned up to 11. It wasn’t uncommon for Anfisa to have explosive fights with Jorge, and she even got physical with him on occasion. Between locking Jorge out of his phone, keying the word “idiot” into Jorge’s car, and more, many fans suspect that Anfisa enjoys stirring up drama in her relationships. Whether she initiates arguments and volatile behavior for the cameras or her own amusement is unclear, but some of the show’s most dramatic moments came from Anfisa.

Mike Youngquist

90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After Mike Youngquist

Many fans have credited Natalie Mordovtseva for the troubles in her relationship with Mike, but just as many viewers point to Mike as being the primary drama queen. Fans have called 90 Day Fiancé star Mike a big baby and some say he was gaslighting Natalie throughout their relationship, so it’s no surprise that his behavior gets a lot of criticism. In addition to his constant exaggerated sighing, Mike seemed to take joy in starting fights with Natalie and doing things he knew would bother her. If Mike had the option between stirring up drama and choosing the path of least resistance, he would almost always instigate trouble.

Julia Trubkina

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After star Julia Trubkina

The feisty Russian initially got a lot of support from fans who felt she was unfairly trapped on a farm with her fiancé Brandon Gibbs and his overbearing parents. However, on Happily Ever After? Julia fell from grace in the eyes of viewers who saw her behavior as unnecessarily dramatic and adversarial. Her extreme jealousy was unwarranted and it sometimes appeared that she reveled in the trouble she caused between Brandon and his parents. Many fans are now very critical of Julia and think she provokes conflict just for the fun of it.

Big Ed Brown

Though a lot of fans had sympathy for Big Ed when he first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, many feel he has since worn out his welcome by constantly seeking out drama. Big Ed claims to always get rejected by women, but many fans have pointed out that he would have much better luck dating women his own age. Ed says he wants a relationship but constantly seeks out women who won’t be compatible with his life. It seems most of Ed’s heartbreak is his own doing and viewers are growing sick of all his crocodile tears.

Brittany Banks

90 Day Fiancé star Brittany Banks

From Brittany’s attitude on The Other Way and 90 Day: The Single Life, it has become clear that she lives for drama. From exiting the airport in a Muslim country with a big bottle of booze to dating multiple men at the same time, Brittany engages in a lot of behavior that ends up creating conflict. At this point, it can’t be by coincidence. Brittany often seems to relish being the source of turmoil, and it’s definitely keeping her from being in a stable relationship—although that may be just how she wants it.

These 90 Day Fiancé stars certainly know how to make the show more interesting with their over-the-top behavior, and some fans even think they go too far. Still, it’s hard to deny the entertainment value that comes with these stars’ ability to stir the pot and fire up the drama.
