The couple is currently on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? but Liz and Ed first met on his second appearance with the franchise in 90 Day Fiance: The Single Life season 1. After a failed attempt with Rosemarie Vega, Big Ed was hunting for a young woman to share his life with. After seeing Liz several times at the restaurant she worked at, he finally worked up the nerve to ask her on a date. Hesitantly, she agreed, and their relationship has been a rollercoaster ride ever since.
90 Day Fiancé's Liz never appeared to be genuinely interested in Big Ed, and he had a way of always saying the wrong thing. The couple has broken up eight times. During that time, Big Ed sought another partner in Mexico, attended therapy, and proposed to Liz after his dog, Teddy, passed away. Since then, their relationship appears to be sailing more smoothly, although they obviously have their faults. However, after a recent Instagram post, fans are theorizing the couple might have already gotten hitched.
Liz recently revealed a prank she had in store for Big Ed, in a cryptic Instagram post. She recently purchased dissolvable swim trunks and planned to trick 90 Day Fiancé's Big Ed into jumping in the pool to see his reaction. However, in Big Ed's repost, he cleverly included two hashtags: "husbandandwifepranks" and "husbandpranks" with the caption "She got me this time…LOL!" Although hashtags aren't foolproof, it's the first instance fans are aware of where they referred to each other as spouses.
However, that's not the only reason some fans believe the couple might be married. In the beginning of the year, Liz and Big Ed revealed that they planned to marry at the beginning of August—a little earlier than the anniversary of their engagement. If the couple followed in their original plans, it's probable that 90 Day Fiancé's Liz and Big Ed are married but kept their wedding hidden for the sake of the show.
