Former 90 Day Fiancé star Ben Rathbun, who recently got engaged to Mahogany Roca, is being called a “liar, fraud, and bad friend” by Jessica Siciliano. Former pastor Ben met Mahogany, from Peru, online, and within a few weeks of chatting decided to get married to her. Ben had never spoken to Mahogany on video or phone call and had already loaned her $1,000 while hoping to get her to move to the U.S. The 52-year-old man didn’t mind that Mahogany was 24 (or 22) years old and using highly filtered photos of herself on Facebook and Instagram. Ben’s faith aligned with Mahogany’s beliefs, despite his family and friends like Jessica being sure of Mahogany being a catfish.
When Ben told Jessica and her husband Charlie about his future plans with Mahogany, she immediately saw the red flags. While Jessica was concerned about Ben, during the Tell-All she found out that he was making rude comments about her behind her back. Ben had told Mahogany how Jessica loved to “stay in the drama.” Seeing Ben’s true colors deeply affected Jessica, who proceeded to accuse the Michigan man of being a thirsty narcissist. However, Jessica thinking Ben was two-faced seemingly didn’t hinder their friendship. After the reunion, Ben and Jessica seemed to have forgotten all about the drama, but news of Ben and Mahogany’s engagement left Jessica feeling betrayed.
Using her private Instagram, (via @merrypants) Jessica posted a lengthy statement in which she revealed, “Ben ghosted my husband and I a few months ago.” Jessica claims to have spent countless hours helping Ben set up an online fitness coaching business because he “couldn’t get a job” and was stuggling financially. As per Jessica, Ben was also posting about “losing access to his money” and using the McDonald’s app for free food. Jessica had given Ben cash for “food/gas for his drive home” when he visited them. She also sent Ben money on Zelle. “Joke’s on me,” she added because Jessica didn’t know Ben and Mahogany had a YouTube channel that showed him taking “countless trips to Peru” and even buying an engagement ring for Mahogany.
Jessica admits she never knew the real Ben and that she’s not spoken to him since he “duped” her and her husband and took off to Peru months ago. Jessica recalled defending Ben on social media and him still turning on her in the Tell-All, while knowing that she had just lost her father. Back then, Ben’s apology melted Jessica’s heart, since she believed he was truly sorry. “Clearly it was just another manipulation,” she continued. But she’s learned her lesson and won’t let 90 Day Fiancé star Ben spin her in circles with his “adult fairytales” again. Jessica spoke about fans who follow her because of the show asking her what’s going on with Ben. She confessed she can’t tell what’s going on because she clearly has “NO idea” about anything.
Jessica believes there won’t be a friendship between her and Ben going forward. Meanwhile, Ben and Mahogany both are missing from Instagram. Fans only found out about the engagement via the couple's YouTube page, which made them wonder why Ben would reveal such a big relationship update and not save it for a 90 Day Fiancé spin-off. After all, Ben and Mahogany were spotted together filming in Peru in late July. Given how controversial Ben and Mahogany’s coupling was on TLC, it’s not a surprise if they make a comeback. However, fans can only keep making guesses, since there’s no way for them to reach out to Ben, and he seems to be good at fooling even his close friends.
