Many 90 Day Fiancé couples have gotten divorced and moved on, but Ashley Martson thinks her ex-husband, Jay Smith, still carries a torch for her. Jay and Ashley’s relationship on 90 Day Fiancé had a rocky start, and their marriage after that was very unhealthy. After all the cheating and lies, breaking up was the right decision, but that doesn’t mean that their feelings disappeared overnight.
Ashley and Jay’s storyline on 90 Day Fiancé picked up after Ashley met Jay in Jamaica while on vacation, and despite their many obstacles, the couple got married at the end of season 6. However, things didn’t settle down after getting married, and it wasn’t long before Ashley found evidence that Jay was cheating on her. The couple broke up and got back together several times. Eventually, Ashley and Jay finalized their divorce in March.
Recently, Ashley opened her own salon and has been celebrating her success at making her dreams a reality. Many fans have congratulated her, and even Jay shared his well wishes by sending her a bottle of wine and sharing a “congrats” message on Instagram. Ashley shared the photo and commented, “Thanks for the wine! I see you’re still rocking my name on your wrist.” Jay responded to her comment, saying, “Lol your name is a lesson and a reminder.” However, Ashley felt there was more to it. “A lesson that you once married the most amazing women in the world,” she shot back. “A reminder you’re still in love with me. Got it.”
Ashley has updated fans on her love life, recently revealing she is dating someone new and has clearly moved on from her failed marriage. But she thinks that Jay hasn’t, and Ashley rubbed salt in the wound by reminding Jay of what he lost. Though it’s great to see that Jay supports his ex-wife’s business successes, it’s unclear whether he’s actually still in love with Ashley. Her name is still tattooed on Jay’s wrist, but tattoo removal is both expensive and painful, so it’s not surprising that Jay would simply keep the tattoo.
Even if the 90 Day Fiancé star isn’t still in love with his ex-wife, Ashley, it’s clear that Jay didn’t value Ashley’s love and help when they were together, and he may be trying to make up for it. The bottle of wine to celebrate Ashley’s new salon was a nice gesture, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s still in love with his ex. Still, Ashley has demonstrated that she knows her self-worth, and that will likely serve her well in her new relationship.
